Synopsis
Codyis halted mid-rush upstairs to join a rescue whenFrankiearrives with bad news: she's been accepted into a science camp, but Cody hasn't, not unless he takes a catch-up math course. Cody's not that keen and hurries to joinDaniandBladeson the rescue. As they fly along, Dani and Cody discuss the fact he hasn't been able to spend much time with Frankie lately and they might possibly grow apart. Discussion halts when an energy vortex opens ahead of them and a hot-air balloon appears from it. Blades is unable to avoid a collision and punctures the balloon, sending it groundward. They're fortunately able to pluck the balloon's pilot from the basket before it crashes in some trees.
They return to thefirehousewhere the balloon pilot asks what year it is and introduces himself asJules Verne.Kadeimmediately opts out of the conversation, while the others try to determine whether he's the historical Jules Verne by showing him a copy ofTwenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea,though he doesn't recognize it. Cody eventually finds a photo of historical Jules on theComTabwhich matches their guest, though the family are surprised when it turns out he knowsHeatwave.TheRescue Botsarrive back at the fire house with Verne's balloon, and are equally surprised to find Verne knows aboutCybertron,having met Cybertronians on another trip to the future. The Bots recall theVerne devicewhich is part ofDoctor Morocco'sChamber of Youth,and Verne reveals that he and Morocco are friends. He tells the tale of how they worked together but drifted apart. He has come to the future in response to a message he received with today's date and a set of coordinates.
Without any other way to reach the coordinates in the note, the team heads out onHigh Tide's ship. Verne watches Cody play fetch withServoand makes a comment about friendship being precious, which prompts Cody to try to call Frankie. The ship reaches the coordinates, but High Tide reports he can't detect anything on his scanners. They're hit moments later by a whale, which knocksChiefoverboard and makes to eat him. Between Heatwave andChase,Chief's soon rescued, but Heatwave finds the whale has a camera attached to it. When the camera spots Verne, the whale suddenly gestures at them to follow it. High Tide assumes his submarine mode and takes Chief, Cody and Verne underwater, where they find theNemoand board it. They're greeted by Doctor Morocco himself, who is looking extremely old — Morocco explains he had to trade his Verne Device toMadeline Pynchto get the ship back, and without a workingChamber of Youth,he sent a note back in time to summon Jules Verne in the hopes of obtaining a replacement device. While Verne's happy to let Morocco use the Verne Device from his time-traveling balloon, Chief wants to arrest Morocco. On hearing Morocco's crimes, Verne realizes his friend has changed for the worse.
Realizing he's not going to get the help he needs, Morocco resorts to plan B and seals the trio in aforce field,revealing he can now control sea life telepathically with the aid of a hi-tech helmet. A couple of whales under Morocco's control attack High Tide's ship, sending the Rescue Bots scrambling. A giant squid also attacks, grabbing Chase untilBoulderis able to free him using Servo as a crowbar. Boulder hands Servo off to Blades as the ship starts listing, and the squid manages to pull it completely underwater with Boulder and Chase still aboard. Chief is about to surrender when High Tide returns to the boat and shifts it into Megabot Mode, freeing it from the squid and using a sweep of his arm to ward off the attacking sea life. Aghast, Morocco surrenders.
Back inGriffin Rock,Morocco is allowed to use the Chamber of Youth shortly before being stuck in a cell. Verne pulls up a chair for a chat, and Cody calls Frankie, hoping to show her the conversation. Sadly Verne and Morocco find they've grown too far apart to maintain their friendship. Cody reveals to Frankie he's decided to take the catch-up math course, and when Frankie learns that the visitor is Jules Verne, she rushes over. She arrives as the repairs on the balloon are completed. Verne wants to take Morocco back to his time to serve his sentence, and Cody has the idea of wiping Morocco's memory of being villainous.Grahampoints out that then there would be two Moroccos co-existing in the past, and Verne decides to take Morocco to the future instead. Boulder notices that Verne's balloon is powered byenergon,a souvenir of another meeting with Cybertronians, but Verne refuses to elaborate further. When they go to fetch Morocco, they find he's already escaped. Verne, Cody and Frankie find him getting into the balloon and try to stop him. However, Heatwave turns up in time to slap handcuffs on Morocco. Verne takes the balloon and Morocco and departs through time. The team speculates that Verne is going to meet Heatwave again, and wonder if Verne and Morocco made it to the future. In futureParis,Verne shows an apparently amnesic Morocco around.

- Servo now has a Rescue Bot insignia on his collar as opposed to the plain Autobot insignia he had in his introductory episode.
- In "It's a Bot Time",Morocco described his Chamber of Youth as" the best technology he stole ", though in this episode it's revealed Verne gave him the Verne Device. Maybe he doesn't want to admit to their friendship, or maybe he just remembers events differently?
- TheNemowas stolen by Pynch in "Double Villainy",though she was seen abandoning it in"Rise of the Heroes"thanks to the ship springing a leak. She also appeared to have gotten away with the Verne Device, possessing it at the end of" Double Villainy ", though Morocco was seen to still have it at the end of" Rise of the Heroes ".

- Jules Verne and his bookTwenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seaare, of course, real. Events throughout the episode pay homage to the book, including the attack on High Tide's ship, implying that Verne was inspired by them to write about them. Given the novel began serialization in March of 1869, the same year Verne claims to have traveled from, there is roughly a two-month window during which Verne could have received Morocco's message.
