Season 4 of theoriginal cartoon seriesconsisted of a three-part episode titled "The Rebirth".It introduceddozensof new characters, and conversely, provided a sense of closure for the show as a whole.
It was originally meant to be a five-part episode (à la "Five Faces of Darkness"), but due to waning interest inThe Transformersat the time,Hasbroreduced it to a three-part episode instead, thus leading to the series' at-times rushed feeling and pacing, complete with barely any character development for the majority of the new characters (some don't even have a line of dialogue).
