TheTriggerconsare a trio of smaller-sized Decepticons, who each pack heavy-duty cannons which can flip out when required. The three Triggercons are:

The Triggercons were first seen in action four million years ago onCybertron,soon after the war started. Megatron tried to capture theUnderbaseand they were his support troops. They pursuedOptimus Primeand the Triggerbots to the Underbase's location, but failed to capture it.The Flames of Boltax!

In 1989, the Triggercons were chafing under the leadership of theTriumvirate—fed up with decadence, they wanted to return to warfare and conquest. WhenMegatronreturned to assume command and the Triumvirate tried to shoot him in the back, the Triggercons saved him (by shooting theTriumviratein the back).The Fall and Rise of the Decepticon Empire.Later, they would be part of a team sent to retrieveThunderwingfromEarthand take him back to Cybertron. He forcibly took command of themRage!and used them to attack theArkfor the purposes of revenge. Ruckus had to convince him to retreat.Assault on the Ark!

Ruckus and Windsweeper seemed to meet with Thunderwing's approval, as after this they were drafted in theMatrix Questunder his personal command. Thunderwing grew increasingly obsessive and abusive, with Ruckus being backhanded across the Decepticon ship for a minor slight. They were nearly killed by Thunderwing and the corrupted Matrix, and surrendered to the Autobots after the battle.All Fall Down

Crankcase would be killed by theCybertronian Empirewhen they attacked theWarworld.New Dawn

Windsweeper wants to be a GERM-FREE TOY.
The three Triggercons were released in1988,sold carded at the $3 price point. The Triggercons feature flip-out guns in bothvehicleandrobot modes.Their transformations are simple, and their posability is generally limited to rotating knee and shoulder joints. Like most subgroups at the time, they hadAutobotcounterparts: theTriggerbots.

Combiner Wars

28 years later, two of the three Triggercons, namely Grabuge (Ruckus renamed due to trademark inability) and Windsweeper, were released asCombiner Wars-styled Deluxe Class figures for theTransformers Figure Subscription ServiceSeries 4.0 in 2016.

"Decepticon Rukus" is an extensive retooling ofLegacy: EvolutionDeluxe ClassBeachcomber.Of the Triggercon trio, Rukus has the closest approximation of their original gimmick; flip-out cannons that can deploy in both modes withoutpartsforming,only lacking the spring-loaded functionality.
