Andromeda (G1)

Andromeda is an Autobot or an unaligned Transformer from the Generation 1 continuity family.

"Cybertron has come down with a fever... Lobbing fever. If you have the fever, there's only one cure. Take two tickets and see the game Sunday morning. Warning: tickets should not be taken internally."

Andromeda is flashy and outspoken, the kind of reporter who thrives on soundbites and style over details like substance and basic facts. Unfortunately, however, these bad habits have landed her in more than one predicament.

Andromeda was nervous on her first appearance for ABN's Around Cybertron, and during a segment on Lobbing, managed to hit Bishop in the head. At the end, Rook asked her how she thought it had gone, and she confessed her nervousness and hoped Bishop was all right. Apparently he was, as he and Cassiopeia joined her while Rook signed off the show. Around Cybertron #18

Andromeda was an anchor working for Fever Dream in the Iacon Communications Service. She was assimilated by the Vehicons with the rest of her news crew during the Vehicon Apocalypse when the drones turned on the Builders. Derailment

2019 IDW continuity

"Voxpop, without knowing precisely what the danger is, would you say it's time for our viewers to crack each other's heads open and feast on the goo inside?"

After the Tether fell, Andromeda gave a news broadcast on the reactions of Cybertron's various factions. Swindle's After Sentinel Prime turned Quake's arrest into a public spectacle, Andromeda broadcast her show live from the streets of Iacon, and interviewed frequent commentator Voxpop for his thoughts. Prisoners When the Prime convened a Senate session without the Ascenticons, Andromeda dragged Voxpop in front of the camera once again only for Prowl to cut the interview short, dismissing Voxpop as an angry idiot and refusing to let tensions inflame even higher. Smirking at the camera, Andromeda invited her viewers to decide who was letting their anger show. We Have Deceived You

After the Decepticons had taken over the Senate, Andromeda made tracks for Tarn, hoping to investigate a mysterious communications blackout from the city before she was called by Senator Soundwave and ordered to Decepticon headquarters. Awakenings

Drafted into a propaganda piece, Andromeda interviewed Megatron about Sixshot becoming the leader of the Decepticon Guard, with the Decepticon leader dismissing the rumours about the veteran's affiliation with the Rise as being Autobot lies. To Andromeda's dismay, the broadcast was then cut off with Soundwave stating that she would be contacted if needed and to get out. Hunt

• In Around Cybertron, Andromeda shares a body-type with Shattered Glass Andromeda and no doubt turns into the same "Super-Charged Chase Vehicle" vaguely inspired by Cybertron Override. Anna Malkova would eventually draw a version of this mode (at right) on-page in the 2019 IDW comics.
• In the 2019 IDW comics, Andromeda is accompanied by three spherical hovering camera drones.
