CR chamber
From Transformers Wiki
The CR Chamber is a device primarily used for medical treatment. It operates via a two step process: first, the Transformer is placed in a form of suspension that frees their body's systems from performing maintenance functions and focus on repairs. Second, advanced nanobots direct and supercharge the Cybertronian's natural healing process, allowing their living metal to regenerate a hundred times faster than it would naturally. [1] They also often possess manipulator limbs, presumably for manually putting badly damaged bots back together. Their ability to repair a Cybertronian from almost any injury short of extinguishing their spark makes them a valuable resource during conflicts.
CR chambers are also used beyond simple repairs. In many instances when a Cybertronian is without a personal onboard scanner, the chamber is used to reformat them into their new alternate mode.
It is not a torture chamber.
It is Waspinator's best friend.

After Optimus Primal and his crew crashed on Earth, they used their CR chambers to give themselves beast modes. Beast Wars (Part 1) After Megatron and Waspinator were zapped by an alien probe, they required recuperation in the Predacon restoration chambers. Dinobot likewise ended up in the CR chamber, and when he recovered consciousness, he mistook it for a Maximal Torture Chamber. Chain of Command During the landing of a stasis pod, the Predacons scrapped Optimus, and he had to spend an extended period in the CR chamber. Dinobot was able to access Primal's core consciousness and communicate with the big ape while he was still undergoing repair. Fallen Comrades
The Maximals scanned Optimus in the CR chamber after he was hit by a rage-inducing viral mine. He busted his way out of the chamber. Gorilla Warfare Rattrap dumped Dinobot in the CR chamber after the latter was injured while warning the Maximals about a Predacon trap. Victory It was used again to repair some of the Maximals who were blinded by an energon explosion. Dark Voyage After the Starscream-led conquering of the Axalon Optimus came up with a plan that had Dinobot put in the CR chamber, so Optimus could later bust him out so they could retake the ship. The chamber proved unable to do anything to cure Rhinox's energon discharge virus, and was blown apart by his explosive sneezes. The Low Road Megatron had a modified restoration chamber that he commonly relaxed in like a sort of hot tub, and even had a rubber ducky to go with it. Nobody dared ask him why. Before the Storm
Following the destruction of the Planet Buster, both the Axalon and Darksyde were hit with a quantum surge. Dinobot and Rhinox were protected from its effects by the CR chambers they were in, and likewise Waspinator had fallen into a recovery tank at the time and was similarly unaffected. Aftermath Waspinator had to spend more time in the CR tank after being compressed into a cube by the security system protecting the Golden Disks. He was not happy about the fact he had to drag himself to the tank. Coming of the Fuzors (Part 1) Silverbolt subsequently spent time in the Maximal CR chamber after being captured. Coming of the Fuzors (Part 2) For some reason the Maximals eschewed the use of the chamber to reattach Rhinox's arm after a Predacon attack. Other Visits (Part 1) He ended up in there anyway, along with Dinobot, after the Maximals were blasted by another alien structure. Other Visits (Part 2)
The CR chamber was one of the pieces of the Axalon salvaged after the ship's destruction and installed in the cavern housing the Ark, though it required a new door with a vertical window and a new hydraulic opening system. Depth Charge was repaired in it soon after he landed on Earth. Deep Metal Cheetor refused to use the CR chamber during his metamorphosis into a Transmetal 2, which raised the other Maximals' suspicions. Feral Scream Part 2

Megatron made use of regeneration chambers for his Vehicon Generals, three of which were set up within the throne room of his citadel.
After a battle between the generals and the Maximals at a Vehicon assembly plant fried Megatron's planetary systems and rendered him in a weakened state, the generals required several cycles of repair time in the regeneration chambers. They (along with Megatron) did not recover until half a soler cycle later, at dawn of the following morning. The Weak Component
On a mission by the Vehicon Generals and Megatron's Diagnostic Drone to retrieve the young Maximal Nightscream, they brought with them a regeneration chamber with which they used to store the captured Nightscream. While inside the chamber, Nightscream proved completed unaffected by the chamber's restorative abilities, due to his Technorganic body making him incompatible with the chamber. Nonetheless, Nightscream regained consciousness via his body's own natural healing abilities and attempted to escape from the chamber, but was blasted back into it by Jetstorm. The Diagnostic Drone entered the chamber along with Nightscream to interrogate him about his body's healing properties, but Nightscream blasted the drone with his sonic scream to escape, blowing up the chamber from within and burying the drone in its debris. Cryogenic regeneration, commonly referred to as CR, is a technology used by Autobots to recover from traumatic injuries. The process most commonly involves the total submersion of an Autobot in a liquid-filled tank for unknown periods of time. The more extensive the injury, the longer the period of regeneration required.

Notes
- The abbreviation "CR" varied from continuities as the following shows:
- The inclusion of the CR Chamber in Beast Wars was a necessary writer's invention, as the smaller cast on both sides needed a reliable explanation for the way they recovered from the massive amounts of damage that either side's members often took, including being dismembered, decapitated, crushed, and in at least one instance, almost completely incinerated.
