Deseeus
From Transformers Wiki
- Deseeus is a Quintesson from the War for Cybertron Trilogy portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
Deseeus is an oddity amongst Quintesson Judges, as he is utterly devoid of morality in a considerably more unstable manner.
With the countless Deseeus Army Drones serving as Deseeus's personal guards, it would be unwise to question him.

Deseeus was a Quintesson Judge and a Magistrate of the Quintesson Empire. During its tyrannical reign over the Cybertronian race, Deseeus was against the cruelty the empire dealt towards Cybertron, and gave its people the power to fight their oppressors, and win. Deseeus came to view himself as the sole reason for the Cybertronians' freedom, even earning the moniker, "Deseeus the Renegade, Breaker of Shackles". However, his role in history, and indeed his very existence, was unknown to the Cybertronians themselves, putting his claim in question.
Deseeus, while stationed aboard a ship on the planet Chaar, hired Doubledealer and his team of Mercenaries to bring in the Autobot crew of the Ark, with the promise of energon payment in return. When Doubledealer and his crew bought their captives in, they were greeted by the Quintesson Judge in his throne room. When Ironhide mused that he didn't feel welcome, Deseeus, speaking from the shadows, told him that they were, referring to them as his "children". Deseeus then emerged from the darkness, and his five faces each let out a laugh. Optimus Prime was bought to face Deseeus alone, with the judge asking Prime if he knew of him. Optimus told him that he knew what he was, and that was enough. Deseeus told him he was mistaken, and that he was different, having gone against his fellow Quintessons, and been the catalyst for setting the Cybertronian race free. As he calmly claimed his grand importance in Cybertron's history, Prime interjected, bringing up the AllSpark. This agitated Deseeus, but before he could continue, Doubledealer interrupted, demanding his pay. This caused conflict between the faces of the Judge. The face of Wisdom requested patience so that they could reach "consensus". When Prime bought up that the so-called "Breaker of Shackles" now had those he freed in chains, the faces were prompted into further discourse and debate, from being impressed by Prime to demanding reformatting, execution, pain and suffering. However, the face of Wisdom declared the matter was already settled. After declining to reveal what he needed from the Autobots, the judge departed to reach a new consensus.
The face of Wrath turned on the other faces, cutting off and killing them, leaving no need for consensus again. The face of Wisdom tried to appeal that his council could value a peaceful faction, though his words and face were cut off by the face of Wrath. Deseeus emerged with the new look, and his first act was to deny Doubledealer payment. Furious, Doubledealer and his team pulled blasters on the Quintesson, but Deseeus had forces of his own, with his army preventing any action from the Mercenaries. Deseeus approached Prime, gleefully relishing his now singular focus. When Prime claimed they were innocent, Deseeus was more than ready to show them "how they dealt with the innocent" before being threatened by Doubledealer and his crew. The Autobots then attacked and, in conjunction with the Mercenaries, wiped out Deseeus's forces, leaving the single-faced Quintesson to vanish back into the shadows as his prey escaped. Earthrise episode 2
Sometime after the Autobots escaped, Deseeus caught up with the Mercenaries and took control of Doubledealer's mind, with Bug Bite and Exhaust seemingly going along willingly. Above Earth, the Quintesson attempted to wipe out both the Autobots and the Decepticons by using the Mercenaries' ship, the Fool's Fortune. However, an alliance between the two factions turned the tables on Deseeus, who gave up on using Doubledealer and moved to deal with things himself. He fought back against the factions, but was taken aback by the arrival of a stowaway, the Autobot Cog, who shot off the end of one of the Judge's tentacles in an effort to stop him. However, as the ship was fired upon, Cog fell back, giving Deseeus the opportunity to stab him and flee the bridge. Deseeus was presumably killed when the Fool's Fortune warp drive exploded during the dogfight. Earthrise episode 6
Optimus Prime mentioned to the Maximals the Autobots' encounter with the Quintessons, amongst many things, to demonstrate he understands 'complicated'. Ironhide later suggested that the Maximals were a 'another Quintesson trick'. Kingdom episode 1

Notes
- Similarly to the Judge in Cyberverse, Deseeus's faces each have unique voice actors, with the faces of Wrath and Doubt having voices supplied by actresses. Nevertheless, Deseeus is referred to using masculine pronouns.
- Like many War for Cybertron Trilogy models that are not modified toy CAD files, Deseeus's model is based on Ken Christiansen's concept art for the Earthrise Quintesson Judge toy.
- "Deseeus" sounds like a take on the Latin name Decius, though we could not tell you why the writers thought it looked better than the original.
