Dreamwave Generation One continuity
Under command of Marissa Faireborn, the EDC Night Force Unit was deployed on a mission to investigate the weird events taking place in San Desto, among which the disappearance of the entire population. Because evidence had been found Cybertronians were involved, they were accompanied by hands-on experts Jazz, Bumper, Sideswipe, and Sunstreaker, the last of whom's "natural charm" promised for a peachy cooperation. Once in San Desto, Jazz opted to split the group to investigate a bigger area and placed the Night Force Unit with Bumper. One of them raised his voice about "Robo-Joe" not calling the shots, but Marissa backed up Jazz's dibs on authority.
Bumper's scanner led the team into the Aztec Theatres, where one of the unit confided his doubts about trusting a Cybertronian. A comrade of his noted that if Bumper or the others had meant to do them harm, they would have done so a long time ago. As the group proceeded, they came upon evidence of violence that had been absent outside and in moments were attacked by the perpetrators. Only Dorry and Cruz got out of the theater: Bumper had been taken captive by Bombshell and the rest of the EDC Night Force Unit had been murdered.
Responding to their screams for help, the others had returned to the theater to provide assistance, where they found Dorry and Cruz. The two survivors explained what happened, right before the Insecticon clones resumed their attack. Infestation Trying to keep them off, Cruz ended up having to reload: a distraction that one of the Insecticon clones used to abduct both him and Dorry. Marissa wanted to help them, but with the rest of the clone army still on her and Jazz, that was impossible. Some blocks away then, the Insecticon EDC soldiers were able to fight back enough to force the clone to drop them. It was just about to kill them when Bumper, in his search for Bombshell, found them and killed the clone instead. Dorry and Cruz were relieved to see him alive and told him that they may have seen Bombshell fly above them earlier, heading in the same direction that the clone had been trying to pull them. Cruz remarked that it had probably been meaning to eat them. Bumper replied with an ominous "Oh...?" Extermination
One of Marissa's superiors later confronted her with the death of the whole unit she was responsible for, ordering her to reactivate Project: Centurion in order to prepare defenses against the Transformers. The Route of All Evil
