Star Wars Transformers
Shortly after making their famed completion of the Kessel Run in just under twelve parsecs, Han Solo and his co-pilot Chewbacca are discovered by the omnipresent Empire. Determined not to be captured so easily, Han and Chewie use one of the more recent modifications to the Falcon. Now able to split into not one, but two heavily armed attack robots, the Falcon unleashes a barrage of missile fire onto an Imperial vessel... showing Darth Vader that although she may not look like much of a threat, the Millennium Falcon sure does pack a solid one-two punch of speed and power! [1]
With a price on his head, Han Solo found himself the latest target of notorious bounty hunter Boba Fett. After avoiding Fett for several months, Solo was spotted on Coruscant.[2]
Toys
Star Wars Transformers
- Han Solo & Chewbacca / Millennium Falcon (2006)
- Accessories: 5 missiles, missile launcher/Han's gun, Chewbacca's gun, radar dish, cockpit, Han Solo figure, Chewbacca figure
- Known designers: Brian Parrish (Hasbro),[3] Marcelo Matere (packaging artist)
- Only available as a 2-pack, Han Solo is packaged with Chewbacca. Fittingly, he combines with Chewie to form the Millennium Falcon with Han forming the front section of the vessel. His robot mode head is sculpted to look like a mechanical version of Harrison Ford/ Han Solo, haircut and all. Pressing in his sculpted belt buckle activates lights as well as sounds and Han Solo dialogue from the Star Wars films. He includes a small slightly articulated pilot figure of Han Solo which can sit in the cockpit in ship mode, or a thin compartment on his chest in robot mode.
- Thankfully, Han does not suffer from Gold Plastic Syndrome like his pack-mate Chewie.
- Note that in the image above, Han is mistransformed—specifically, his crotch is supposed to be folded back. Yes, we know how that sounds.
Star Wars/Transformers
- Millennium Falcon (6-2018)
- Accessories: 2 Han Solo pistols, Chewbacca's gun, radar dish, gun mount, Han Solo figure, Chewbacca figure
- Much like the original version from 2006, the 2018 Star Wars/Transformers version of Han Solo transforms into the front half of the Millennium Falcon and can once again combine with Chewbacca, whom he is packaged with. The Falcon's main cannon is made of two pistols molded after Han Solo's iconic DL-44 pistol which he used in the films. Unlike the original mold, this figure features no electronic lights or sounds. A tiny pilot figure of Han Solo is included and can ride in the ship's cockpit which ends up as a large arm-mounted cannon in robot mode.
- This figure is the only figure in the 2018 Star Wars Transformers line that has a robot head that does not closely resemble the movie character and is instead a new design that looks more like Optimus Prime than Harrison Ford.
Notes
- Han shot first.
- In the script for "Hoist Goes Hollywood", Harold Edsel's character Dash Jordon was originally named "Sam Solo" in homage to Han.
- In the Q-Transformers episode "Mystery of Smearing Salt in the Open Wound", Optimus Prime suggests that the best way to respond to "I love you" is by saying "I know". Everyone thought the line was very cool.
- Han was of course portrayed by Harrison Ford in the Star Wars films. Neil Ross, Lex Lang, Michael Daingerfield and Max Mittelman have all voiced Han in various other media.
