Jean Roche

Jean Roche (November 9, 1937 - August 30, 2023) was a French actor, voice director and dialogist.
Having spent most of his career in the realm of dubbing, he was notably the voice of Johnny Weissmuller in the Tarzan films, Charles Shaughnessy in various series and Billy Dee Williams in 4 films including the original Star Wars films. He provided many voices for series like Law and Order (including the intro voice), Hercule Poirot, Midsomer Murders, Derrick and Stargate SG-1.
In animation, he reprised his role of Tarzan for Tarzan, Lord of the Jungle, and was the voice of Tigro and Vultureman in ThunderCats. He reprised his role of Lando Calrissian just once, in Lego Star Wars: The Resistance Rises.
As a voice director, he directed the French dubs of American Dad!, Battlestar Galactica, Hercule Poirot or Sons of Anarchy. As a dialogist, he notably wrote the French dubs of Gremlins and The NeverEnding Story.
