- Leviathan is a Transformer from the 2019 IDW portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
Though her size may be comparable to the combiners, Leviathan is no different from any other Transformer, save for her chosen occupation, harvesting metal from Cybertron's surface so that it can be used in the forging of new Cybertronians. She is afflicted by mode attachment, unwilling to transform into robot mode unless the situation is absolutely life-or-death.

By the time of Rubble's forging, Leviathan had been in her alternate mode for kilocycles and harvested living metal so that new sparks could mold their bodies. When Bumblebee was teaching Rubble about alternate modes, he pointed out the distant form of Leviathan to his protégé and explained that both of them likely owed their existence to her efforts. The World In Your Eyes Part Three
While following her usual route, Leviathan fell victim to the unusual geological activity plaguing the wilderness and fell into a crevice where she was found by Azimuth's team. Though it was pointed out that Leviathan could simply revert to robot mode and climb to freedom, the colossus claimed her alternate mode to be her only form, stubbornly demanding that search and rescue be called. After hearing the chaos of the geologists dodging blaster fire from the Rise, however, Leviathan exasperatedly transformed to robot mode and crawled out of the fissure. Tremors
Leviathan's gargantuan size and strength quickly turned the tide of the battle in favour of Novastar's team, she grabbed Quake's tank mode in her hands and slammed him to the ground. Leviathan underestimated the Riser as he was still able to fire a round at her knee, causing her to collapse atop the criminal and pin him underneath her own weight. While the other Risers fled amidst the chaos, Novastar stayed behind to get medical attention for Leviathan. Prisoners
Despite this promise, Megatron's sudden coup threw he planet into chaos and Leviathan was forgotten for several cycles until Wheeljack and Hoist found her out in the wilderness and invited her to join their Darkmount-bound refugee convoy. A group of A'ovan children played on her superstructure until Nautica told them to leave. Although the group had set out to Darkmount to retrieve several Ark-class starships, Leviathan told Hoist that she had no intention of leaving the planet anytime soon. Escape Part Three Once the convoy made camp outside Darkmount's walls, Hoist affected medical care to Leviathan. Escape Part Four By the time that the Insecticon clone swarm attacked, Leviathan had been brought back up to fully operational status; bringing her considerable robot-mode might to bear. Despite this, the Insecticons overran her defenses and toppled her, being saved by Wheeljack and Gears using improvised alien technology to electrocute the clones. Escape Part Five
Over the next forty cycles, Leviathan remained at Darkmount until the day that the Decepticons finally made an all-out push on the city in an attempt to eliminate the Autobots before they could evacuate the planet. As the Autobots lost ground, Ironhide authorized Leviathan and Computron to take the field and turn the tide, but the pair ran headlong into a furious Devastator. Although Leviathan put up a brief fight, Devastator quickly incapacitated his foe with a headbutt and a well-placed punch, and Chromia ordered the defeated Leviathan to fall back and get aboard Lodestar as the Autobots prepared for launch.
