Quintessa, or Quintesson, is the home planet of the Quintessons. It is also home to various deadly robotic creatures, all as twisted and malevolent as the Quintessons themselves. Quintessa has a tendency to be destroyed, with the Quintessons creating themselves a New Quintessa somewhere else in the universe.

The Covenant of Primus

On his quest to seed planets across the universe with civilization, Quintus Prime used the Emberstone to seed the young planet of Quintessa with life forms, creating the first Quintessons. Although Quintus Prime intended to create peaceful, spacefaring beings, the arrogant, manipulative, and self-serving Quintessons he created did not fit this mold. Quintessa ultimately proved to be the hub and staging ground for many campaigns, including the attempted conquest and annexation of Cybertron. The Covenant of Primus

Notes

  • Flint Dille's idea for Quintessa was that it was not the planet that the Quintessons originated on, but merely the latest in a series of planets colonized by the Quintessons and subsequently claimed to be their homeworld. He further envisioned the various sea creatures in the movie as some of their discarded experiments.[1]
  • Floro Dery modeled Quintessa after a skull,[2] presumably one viewed in profile or slightly behind the rear of the skull.
  • In Volume 2 of My Little Pony: The Manga, Doctor Hooves mentions saving a Cybertronian version of Fluttershy from the Sharkticon pits on Quintessa Prime.

Foreign names

  • Japanese: Quintessa-sei (クインテッサ星 Kuintessa-sei, "Planet Quintessa")
  • Italian: Quintessenza ("Quintessence")
