Thetacon (tribe)

After the Dynasty of Primes disappeared, the remaining Cybertronians separated into a number of tribes that went on to compete with one another over Cybertron's remaining energy. One such tribe is formed by the Thetacons, who probably reside in the city of Thetacon. Ironhide is one of their best warriors.

The Thetacons believed Sentinel Prime to be a false Prime and saw his attempt to bring a star to Cybertron as an act of madness that would destroy their world. The Thetacons set out to stop him and his followers, confronting them at the discovery site of the AllSpark. Sentinel Prime's group held the Thetacons at bay long enough for their plan to follow through and to prove themselves right.
Ironhide took up the role of Thetacon spokesman, acknowledging Sentinel Prime's group to be the superior one. In turn, Sentinel Prime explained that was not what they had been fighting for and that all they wished was for the tribes to reunite into one peaceful race. Ironhide passed this message on to his tribal elders and as a way of expressing gratitude, they promised to build a temple around the AllSpark. Foundation #1
A few solar cycles later, the Thetacon tribe was officially disbanded when Optimus Prime and Megatron were assigned as the united Cybertron's new leaders. Foundation #2
