When Transformers resurfaced in Tokyo, Earth Defense Command contacted President Xi, convincing him the situation was under control and urging him not to send military forces into Japan. Vs. EDC Director Marissa Faireborn tried to contact President Xi once more when the Ark-7 was on a trajectory towards Shanghai, but the Chinese government, unhappy with what they'd seen as an implication that China wished to invade Japan, turned down her request and chose to deal with the problem themselves.
