Huh? GoBot? Yeah, whatever, pal. Why don't you go bot yourself, yeah?

Bug Bite is a mean-spirited hooligan, who can typically be found laughing loudly at his own jokes about how ugly and stupid everyone around him is. He seems to have a special disdain for his teammate Afterburner, though it's not much worse than how he treats everyone else. Pretty much the only thing he likes is big weapons, preferably when stolen from others.

And picking gunk out of his boss Trypticon's toes.

After freezing Cybertron in time, Bug Bite landed with the rest of Trypticon’s crew to loot —then subsequently destroy— the planet. As he exited the Mercenary ship, he was bowled over by Afterburner, bringing on a string of insults that was only interrupted by Doublecrosser nearly ran them both over.

The Mercenaries were soon attacked by Arcee, one of the only Cybertronians who had avoided being time-frozen. Bug Bite was particularly keen on taking her heavy blaster, and got the chance when Soundblaster froze her. The crew was then attacked by Grimlock, who had them on the ropes until the other Dinobots stumbled in. Bug Bite's grenades sent them flying and smashing into Grimlock, and the five were forced to retreat when Soundblaster turned the time blaster on them.

The Mercenaries arrived at the signing of the peace treaty and began to pick the place clean of anything valuable. Soundblaster took the opportunity to indulge in a personal vendetta, unfreezing Soundwave's head so the Decepticon who had bested him centuries ago could "enjoy" being placed inside a infinite resonator which would rip him apart, which Bug Bite activated. The Dinobots returned, this time combined into the colossal Volcanicus. He (accidentally) destroyed the resonator, but the Mercenaries surrounded the combiner, attacking from all sides. When Laserbeak stole the Time Blaster, Soundblaster ordered an all-out attack. The Mercenaries armed themselves, only to be incapacitated by a volley of missiles from Volcanicus, who imprisoned them inside the trailer they had collected their loot in.

Soundblaster called for Trypticon’s help, but instead the massive mechanical monstrosity fired his entire crew and decided to take destroying the Dinobot combiner into his own claws. During Trypticon’s battle with Volcanicus, a stray tail swipe destroyed the trailer, and the Mercenaries fled Cybertron in their ship, happy to be free of Trypticon’s employ. The Immobilizers

Notes

  • Similar to Shadow Striker, Sky-Byte, and Alpha Strike, Bug Bite is spelled in the credits as a single word with normal capitalization: "Bugbite". Of course, since he does not have a toy, we cannot say for sure it is stylized as "Bug Bite", though given his recent Generations Selects toy, it's a fair assumption. Bug Bite was also credited as "Bugbite" in the War for Cybertron Trilogy cartoon.
  • Like most of the other Cyberverse Mercenaries, Bugbite's model is a recolour of an existing character. In his case, that's Bumblebee.
