And inside the sound chamber we place a live baby kitten.

The Targetmaster partner to the Decepticon sharpshooter Treadshot, Catgut happily follows along, enjoying the chance to kill as many Autobots as possible, be it with fusion-powered particle blasts or his razor-sharp claws and fangs.

With one of his optics having been shattered by Bumblebee, Catgut installed a tiny gun in its place and was among the group of Decepticons that seized the Titan Net central hub by force. He exchanged some threatening words with Steeljaw during the takeover. Hunt Catgut remained on guard in the Titan Net hub while Mindwipe, Bitstream, and Sparkstalker tried to reestablish control. Can't... fight! Gun... too HEAVY! Also incorrect!
  • Treadshot with Catgut (Action Master, 1990)
Part of the first assortment of individually-carded Action Masters, released in the seventh and final year of The Transformers in the US, Catgut transforms from a black and orange mechanical panther into a "particle blaster" cannon that any Action Master figure can hold. He also has two post-holes on his flanks that allow him to carry two normal Action Master rifles.
He was only available packed in with his larger partner Treadshot. In an enormously strange twist, Treadshot's instructions depict a different weapon than the one the toy actually comes with—specifically, a weapon that wasn't available with any Action Master, the handgun from the never-released-as-a-Transformer Diaclone Jet-Heli triplechanger (much later known as Fumes, Skyklik, and Rotorbolt). The weapon that was included with Treadshot, meanwhile, is depicted in Soundwave's instructions, which resulted in quite a few mix-ups on toy information websites and in identification guides (including the Transformers Generations guidebook and, unfortunately, the photo to the right).

He transforms into maybe this, why not.
  • Treadshot (Deluxe, 2014)
  • TFSS2 number: 4
A redeco of the Prime Arms Micron Jida, Timelines Catgut is a robotic feline that transforms into whatever you can manage, as there are no instructions for him. As he is an Arms Micron mold, he has multiple 5 mm posts and holes, allowing him to be combined with other Arms Microns and accessories to make bigger and more ridiculous weapons.
He was only available with his larger Deluxe-sized partner Treadshot as part of the exclusive 2014 Club Figure Subscription Service.
