Allicon
From Transformers Wiki
This article is about the Quintesson guards. For the drone built from pieces of Optimus Prime, seeAlligaticon. |
Alliconsare another breed of theQuintessons' enforcer units, often used as guards for more important members of the race. They are slightly smarter than theSharkticons, even capable of speech, but free will has been pretty thoroughly removed from their programming, to the point where they will malfunction if resisting a direct order.
They transform into bipedal, vaguely crocodilian creatures.

A single Allicon later served as the guard for a Quintesson scientist who kidnappedUltra Magnus,Cyclonus,Marissa FairebornandWreck-Garin an attempt to find weaknesses in each prisoner's group. The ship got caught in an electron storm, and the Allicon steered the ship in the wrong direction attempting to pull free, which earned a slap from the scientist before it corrected and changed course. When the captives escaped, it dueled Wreck-Gar with a spear until the Quintesson's ship started being dragged into ablack hole. The Allicon set the ship in reverse thrust to try and resist the gravity well, and activated a distress beacon in hopes that a passing ship might rescue them before the ship's thrusters lost power. When the Quintesson tried to flee in the only escape pod, the Allicon alerted them to the attempt and ran to the escape pod as well, but then froze up when the scientist ordered it to stop. That lockup cleared up as soon as Marissa ran for the pod, and the guard pulled her from Magnus's hands, which resulted in the pod launching with no-one inside. When the ship eventually fell into the black hole, they found themselves in a "negative universe", and the Allicon donated some of its parts to repair the engines and rocket back to their home universe through the "white hole". Finding thmselves in the middle of a stalemated skirmish between their various factions who had come to rescue them, the group agreed to simply part ways without further fighting, and the Allicon and its master went off on their own.The Killing Jar

WhenQuintessawas threatened with destruction by the growing force of the time storm, the Quintessons activated the Trawler Project to find a new suitable homeworld to relocate to, by force if necessary. Allicon agents were sent out to many worlds to determine their suitability for colonization. But a freak cosmic storm diverted the message canister containing the results to the planet ofJunk, where it was recovered byWreck-Garand theJunkions.Wreck-Gar was interrogated by the Quintessons, but provided no useful information. An Allicon led Wreck-Gar to his execution at theSharkticonpits, but was overpowered by the Junkion and tossed into the pit himself. Wreck-Gar fought past a number of other Allicons before making his escape.
In the meantime, GeneralGhyrikled a fleet of Allicons and Quintessons to Earth for Plan B: the taking ofAutobot City!
Ghyrik and the Allicons breached the outer walls using Trident attack crafts, and a commando raid secured the city itself in a matter of minutes. An Allicon soon informed Ghyrik that Phase 2 was underway: the conquest of Cybertron. Other Allicons continued the pursuit of Wreck-Gar away from Quintessa, but he evaded them. Allicon shock troopers simultaneously ambushed the Decepticon forces on Cybertron and stole theCreation MatrixfromRodimus Primewhen he arrived at Autobot City. Meanwhile, the Decepticons on Cybertron received a helping hand fromUltra Magnusand the Autobots. Toys
War for Cybertron: Earthrise
- Quintesson Allicon(Deluxe Class,2020)
- Hasbro ID Number:WFC-E19
- TakaraTomy ID number:ER EX-07
- TakaraTomy release date:August 29,2020
- Accessories:Spear, blade
- Released in the second wave of theEarthriseDeluxe Class lineup, this "Quintesson Allicon" converts into a humanoid crocodilian beast mode in 14 steps. He has two different weapons: a spear modeled after the one used in "The Killing Jar"that can also tab onto his back for storage, and a curved blade made from the inner part of his tail.
- In robot mode, this figure is relatively short for a Deluxe Class toy, but is very solidly built with only the backs of his legs being hollow. Those hollow areas allow the Allicon to compress his legs a decent amount, allowing him to assume a more hunched stance when transformed. On that note, he features an autotransformation gimmick: when transforming from alligator mode to robot mode, folding his alligator head and tail back will automatically cause his robot mode head to rise up into position. However, when converting from robot mode to alligator mode, his robot mode head must be pushed down into its storage position manually.
- The CG render of the beast mode is slightly mistransformed: the robot mode arms are not pegged into the figure's torso, which, in turn, tilts the beast mode arms outward.Initial stock photos provided by TakaraTomydepicted the figure being partially cast with pink and light violet parts instead of shades of gray, but subsequent stock photos showed the figure in colors nearly identical to the ones seen in the render, with the only differences being the gray parts of the shins and the backplate being blue while the blue parts of the beast mode head and its teeth are tan instead. The final figure's color scheme is almost identical to the stock render, but with sand-colored teeth. Inexplicably, the render on the back of the box has been recolored to match the original TakaraTomy stock photos.
- Like mostEarthrisetoys, the inside of the back of the Allicon's package includes an exclusive clip-and-save piece of a larger star map, along with a translucent red "decoder". The Allicon's piece contains the labeled location ofGIGANTION.Like mostEarthrisefigures from Wave 2, however, it is misprinted, and overlays the "decodable" red graphics from the map piece included withEarthriseHoiston top of the details unique to the Allicon's piece.
- In Japan, the Quintesson Allicon was released as aTakaraTomy Mallexclusive. This mold was retooled to make theWar for Cybertron TrilogyQuintesson Bailiff.
Buzzworthy Bumblebee
- Troop Builder Multipack(4-pack, 2023)
- Series:Legacy: Evolution
- Accessories:Axe, mace, tail-sword, Allicon head
- One of four figures in theBuzzworthy Bumblebee"Troop BuilderMultipack ", the Quintesson Trooper is a redeco of theWar for Cybertron TrilogyQuintesson Bailiff in a more cartoon-accurate color scheme, retaining that figure's accessories. Additionally, the Trooper also includes a copy of theEarthriseAllicon's head, with additional paint compared to the original release. While the multipack's packaging and instructions suggest optionally swapping this head onto the Quintesson Trooper to create a sort of Bailiff/Allicon hybrid, a savvy purchaser can instead substitute it onto an originalEarthriseAllicon toy to give it a more cartoon-accurate head... if they don't mind the plastic colors not matching. Due to sitting up higher than the Allicon release of the mold, you should turn the Allicon head so the fin rests in the gap of the chest when transforming to avoid the fin becoming bent.
- This is also the first ever Hasbro-initiated toy[2]to feature the Quintesson insignia (albeit very small). Nice!
- The Troop Builder Multipack also included aDecepticon Seeker,aG2 Universe Cybertronian Trooper, and anAnimated Universe Autotrooper.
Notes
- The script for the movie originally called for the Allicons' scene to feature Sharkticons, but we got these critters instead. They were indeed Sharkticons in the first comic adaptation. Neither in this scene, nor in any of their reappearances during the series were they referred to by name—the script for "The Killing Jar"identified them only as" Quintesson Guards ". Fans online had generally taken to calling them" Allicons ", which was finally madecanoninDreamwave's 2004More Than Meets The Eyeseries.
- Thanks to "The Killing Jar", an Allicon'sbeast modewas the first official use of the term "alternate mode".
