Theappliancebotsare, as the name suggests, a group of common household appliances that came to life whenSam Witwickydiscovered anAllSparkfragment in the shirt he wore at the battle ofMission City.Like all human technology mutated into Transformers, the Appliancebots are inherently dangerous and aggressive, apparently because most modern human technology was reverse-engineered from astasis-lockedMegatron.

Notes

  • The term "appliancebot" comes from thefilm novelization. The various creative types interviewed on the RotF DVD/Blu-Ray special features refer to them as "Kitchenbots", while a RotF coloring book also refers to them informally as the "Kitchen Crew".
  • Apparently the robot the animators nicknamed "Dickbot the blender guy" was the leader of the Appliancebots at one stage of development, suggesting a more substantial role for them.
  • The appliancebots in this film are more comical and less feral, homicidal maniacs than the Allspark Mutations in the first film.
  • When the shard hits the kitchen, the fridge is seen opening, but no robot is seen coming out of it. Maybe its courage level is low.
  • WhenSamis picking up the shard in the kitchen, you can see the CISCO Aironet hanging where it was pre-mutation. Either it survived, or somebody goofed up.
  • In theScholasticbook adaptationof ROTF, the AllSpark shard somehow brings even the knives and forks in the Witwicky kitchen alive.
