Cybertronian mythology read that, twelve million years ago, the Knights of Cybertron, the first children of theGuiding Hand,left Cybertron to spread enlightenment and make peaceful contact withalienlifeforms. Eventually the brave explorers touched down on a distant planet that they turned into a utopia, appropriately dubbed "Cyberutopia".The Death of Optimus PrimeYou, Me, and Other RevelationsHow Bright Their Frail DeedsThe Return of the KingIt was, presumably, from this story that theCyberutopiansect took their name.Chaos Theory Part 2

The truth of the matter was much less glamorous than the stories suggested. Though the Knights had found alien lifeforms, the life was organic resulting in them becoming patient zeroes for a new disease brought on from contact with organic life:atrophosia.The Knights sought treatment at the ancient medical moon ofMederi,with the planetoid's telepathic field resolving the Knights' desire to return home but still find new worlds by creating the illusion of a "perfect" Cybertron. Unaware of this, the Knights believed they had found the promised land and inscribed a map to the moon in the crystalline core of theCreation Matrix,sending it back to Cybertron so that the rest of their kind could follow it. Following this, Mederi's euthanasia protocols presumably claimed the lives of the Knights.You Are Here

Nonetheless, the fabled map to Cyberutopia eventually made its way into Cybertronian mythology with many of the more religious citizens seeking it out.Dai Atlas,leader of theCircle of Light,was so driven to find it to the point where his name inOld Cybertronianwas "Dei Atlas", literally translating as "God Map".

After the Creation Matrix — now referred to as the "Matrix of Leadership" — was split in half after purgingVector Sigmaof theD-Void,the map was found in one half.Driftcorrectly deduced this to be the fabled map to Cyberutopia, andRodimuspushed to use the map to find the Knights of Cybertron so they could bring about a new Golden Age on Cybertron.The Death of Optimus PrimeA similar map slowly revealed itself toThunderclashin visions and dreams.The Sensuous Frame

Chief JusticeTyrest,overflowing with guilt following theAequitastrials, took to mutilating himself as punishment for his perceived sins. One day, he drilled a hole directly into hisbrain modulewhich convinced him of Primus's existence and that he was being beckoned to Cyberutopia once he'd absolved himself.The Divided SelfTo reach his destination, Tyrest sought out theWarren,an invisible network of spacetime-spanning "quantum tunnels". His plan fell through when he failed to actually find an opening to the structure,Filling in the Blanksso he instead opted for aspace bridgebuilt from the broken remains ofTitans.The Divided SelfWhenSkidsentered it however, the portal was found to lead into the mind of theGrand Architect.This Calamitous LifeThe Return of the King

After assuming command of theLost Light,Getaway, who'd been Tyrest's captive for a time, chargedPerceptorwith finding the Warren so that theLost Lightcould reach Cyberutopia in a matter of weeks.Filling in the BlanksShortly afterStar Saberhad come aboard theLost Light,a trip through the Warren took the ship directly to Cyberutopia.Journey's End

Though the planet initially presented itself as Cyberutopia, the crew had no concrete expectations of the promised land, swiftly collapsing the illusion and revealing Mederi's true nature to them.Lūstrāre

When several crewmembers of theLost Lightwere trapped in theFunctionist Universe,they were "rescued" by theAnti-Vocationist League.Clickerclaimed the AVL operated from Cyberutopia, much to Rodimus's shock.AnomieAs it turned out, however, Cyberutopia was just a nickname for the city ofAdaptica.A World Misplaced
