Dan Reedis an American artist who worked on the Marvel UK Transformers comic book series while living inFrance(convoluted!). Perhaps the most unconventional artist to work on the series, Reed was known for his "wobbly" Transformers, rendered in an organic style that was either loved or despised by readers.
His first strip work was issue 115'sBurning Sky!.Story arcs either partially or entirely illustrated by Reed includeThe Legacy of Unicron!,City of Fear!,Space Pirates!,andTime Wars.
He was also the first "UK" artist to work on the US comic, beating out bothGeoff SeniorandAndrew Wildmanby doing the cover of issue#56.
Reed's French residence meant that the art would always arrive at the eleventh hour. One time, it got so late that Dan Reed jumped on a ferry to bring it in personally—only to be stopped by customs for not having money with him and have his art seized! ( "Everybody in the office is watching the colour drain from my face," recounted Furman) Even after his release, one of the pages 'went walkies' in Customs and Reed had to redraw the whole thing at Marvel's office while the rest was being coloured and lettered.[1]
