Despite belonging to the group of Cybertronians called the "Egg Beasts",Dark Eggbot(ダークエッグボットDāku Eggubotto) does not actually possess abeast mode.He does, however, have a fiendishly complex and calculating processing center which he uses to devise evil plots and nefarious acts of espionage against theMaximals.How his transformation into a ball helps him carry them out is unknown, but if it's good enough forSamus Aran...

Like his fellow Egg Beasts, he is among the oldest operational Predacons.

A late (and low-run) addition to theTakaraBeast Warsline, Dark Eggbot transforms from a mechanical sphere (ostensibly an "egg" mode) into a robot. He is cast in translucent black plastic except for a handful of chromed and die-cast parts. He has a non-removable keychain attached to hisrobot modeback (well, youcanremove it if you bend the metal attaching ring).

All of the Eggbots demand a higher price tag on the secondary market than one would expect at first, thanks to their late and relatively limited release.

This mold is aretoolingof the 1988 TakaraMashin Hero Wataru"Jakira" toy, giving him a new loop for his attached keychain. TheWatarutoy was itself a retool of theMicro ChangeMeteor Robo "MC-14 Metal Man" toy, which also had a base and two additional guns excluded from all later iterations of the mold.

This mold was also used to makeEggbotandKiss PlayersStar Dustand was also proposed for aGenerationsVector Sigmaaccessory, but that was not produced. It also served as the model for acomic background character.
