Darkness Rising

"Darkness Rising"was the five-part mini-series that kicked off thePrimecartoon. As well as introducing us to the mainAutobot,Decepticonandhumancharacters, it set the tone early on by introducing andimmediatelykilling off the AutobotCliffjumper.Also playing a major role in the story was the return ofMegatronwithDark Energon,the essence ofUnicron,which has the ability to raise the dead aszombies.

This mini-series first screened onThe Hubin late November/early December2010,and was released onDVDin the US onDecember 6,2011,editing out commercial break fade-outs and scene repeats to function as a feature-length film. It was released in Australia onJune 20,2012.
