TheGalactic Republicis an interplanetary faction involved in theClone Wars,fighting theConfederacyusing a vast army ofclone troopers.For some time they also had the religious warriors known as theJedion their side, but turned on them for reasons unknown.[1]
Several people aligned with the Republic, such asAnakin Skywalkerand someclone pilots,would later be seen sporting the insignia of theEmpire,suggesting that the Republic evolved.
