- The harbor master's head is that of thedugong,or "sea cow," an endangered marine mammal.
- Though he certainly isn't a Transformer, the harbor master's general appearance — giant armored humanoid with a marine mammal head — makes him look strikingly similar to Longtooth himself.
- The situation in which the harbor master finds himself is a reference to Chief Brody from the filmJaws.
