Hud and his family were recent expatriates from a distant world, which had fallen under the rule of theZargons.They spun quite a tale of the vile Zargons forcing them to leave the planet under threat of death, but the true story may have been very different. They soon settled on the planetCheyne,on a relatively isolated farm. Deceptively innocent to the untrained eye, Hud and his family only came under suspicion after a series of unexplained disappearances cropped up in the nearest town to their farm,Osaplam.The locals had only just learned the truth and were beginning to act against the family, when a team of heroicTriggerbotsstumbled into the story.

Misled by what appeared to be armed goons chasing down a child, the Autobots stepped in on the side of Hud and his family, and were easily sucked in by the Vrobians' wiles. After only a few hours, Hud and his family had ensnaredDogfightand the Triggerbots in a web of peaceful confusion and amnesia. The next morning, Hud headed into town for some supplies, with Dogfight accompanying him for protection. During the sortie,Thunderwingand hisMatrixhunters came upon them, and attacked Dogfight for information on the Autobots' "Matrix Quest." Hud fled to avoid the violence, allowing Dogfight to regain his wits. Dogfight then returned to the farm, and revealed to his fellow Autobots that Hud's family was planning on feeding on their essence. Hud was forced to retake his true form, but grabbed a gun and began to fight back. Dogfight blocked the barrel from Hud's rifle, forcing a backlash that killed the Vrobian.Kings of the Wild Frontier.
