Bottom right corner. Literally the best look you get at Igu in these segments. And he's the wrong color.
Igu only appears as an actual character in theArms Micron Theatersegments of the Japanese broadcast ofPrime.Technically, he appears in the main cartoon any time... uh... a Jet Vehicon uses his cannon, but we're not going to bother with that and just focus on his individual exploits.

Igu got in 15th place during a popularity contest between 17 of the Arms Microns, only beating outGoraandNoji.Sky Dance Transformation! Toys

Prime

  • Jet Vehicon(Deluxe,2012)
  • Set ID number:AM-16
  • Micron ID number:M-17
  • Release date:July 28,2012
  • Energon Crystal:SP Natural
Part of the fifth assortment ofTakaraTomyPrimetoys, Igu transforms from a robotic iguana into the Vehicon's shielded "beam gun" arm-cannon. He is covered in5 mm postsand holes as part of theArms Microngimmick, allowing him to combine with other Microns to form bigger and more ridiculous "Combo Weapons" and "Super Combo Weapons".
For some reason, the boxback labels Igu's Energon Crystal as a "Power" type, which is green, not the clear-white of the actual toy. This is likely just a printing mistake, possibly because the very similarNojiuses a green "Power" Crystal. Igu is listed as "Natural" in the "Arms Up mission" online game, and he's part of a Super Combo Weapon with two other "Natural" types (see below), so...
Speaking of Noji, Despite having the same weapon mode as him, the two are actually entirely different molds.
He was only available packed in with the DeluxeJet Vehicontoy, coming out of the package as a bunch of unpainted parts on runners, like a model kit. His extra deco is provided by customer-applied foilstickerson a sheet he shares with the Vehicon.
This mold was also used by the twoArms Minicons,PillageandPlunder,in theBotCon 2014"Dread Pirate Crew"set.

10 Year Anniversary

This is because we put the picture of the version youmeantto release up at the top of the page and you didn't scroll up, isn't it, Hasbro?
  • War Breakdown and Vehicon 2-Pack(Multi-pack, 2020)
For the tenth anniversary ofPrime,Igu was reissued in a box set with theJet Vehicon,Breakdown, andZamu.Just as before, he comes as an unassembled model kit still on the sprue, with stickers on a sheet to add detail.Unlikebefore, he is cast in silver plastic, very similar to (but a bit more blue-tinted than) the version that came with the "Jet Vehicon General", rather than the original dark gray. The stickers are the same as the original Igu, using purple instead of silver.Whythis happened is unknown.
Igu's instructions include directions to assemble theDebris Hammerwith Zamu... and the original version ofGora, which is not currently available through any Hasbro release. However, "Gora II"isavailable with the concurrently-released Anniversary "Hades Megatron"toy, which is mostly the same, but larger and lacking the blade portions. Gora is noted in the instructions as" sold separately "via sticker applied to the sheet.
This set was exclusive toHasbro Pulsein the U.S. and Canada but was available at general retail in Hasbro's Asian markets such as Hong Kong.

Notes

  • Igu's name is is a shortening of the Japanese rendition of "iguana" (イグアナ).
  • We'd just like to point out how neat it is that thecar Vehicon'sArms Micron partnerand the Jet Vehicon's turn into the same style of blaster while being different animals altogether.
