Jed and Joe were hunting downJunior,the son ofHud,realizing the danger theVrobiansserved. Jed was uncomfortable with the idea of killing a child and pleaded with Joe to stop, but Joe wasn't convinced, knowing that even the child was guilty of being an evil psychic vampire. The point was moot, asDogfightand otherAutobots,not aware of the true self of the child, intervened and forced the cowboys to retreat.

The next day, Hud went into Osaplam with Dogfight under his thrall. Jed was furious at Hud's presence and wished to kill him but was restrained by Joe, who knew that Dogfight was a force to be reckoned with. Regardless,Thunderwingand hisDecepticonssoon arrived for theAutobot.Hud fled the scene, allowing his control over Dogfight to slowly break. After Thunderwing realized the uselessness of a mind-controlled Autobot, he left. Joe, with Jed, then came to the fallen Autobot and explained to him the true nature of his hosts.Kings of the Wild Frontier.
