Jim and Ernie were standing at the ready at work when they spottedCharlie Fongpushing along abeat-up old Volkswagentowards them across the nearby highway. The two gas attendants rushed at his aid, with Ernie offering the exhausted boy some water. Upon a couple of drops hitting the hood of his car, Charlie seemed to go crazy, insisting he washed the vehicle with the station's hose. Jim and Ernie restrained him, believing their guest had gone delirious from a heat-stroke. A couple more vehicles then rolled up to the station, and Jim left Charlie in Ernie's care while he checked up on them. The vehicles turned out to be theThrottlebotsWideloadandRollbar,come to destroy the Volkswagen, theAutobotGoldbug, to expunge a deadly infection ofScrapletshe carried.

Jim and Ernie ran for cover, with the former wondering if he was suffering from a heatstroke himself in light of all the madness happening around him. But Charlie leaped into action, revealing the reason for his earlier outburst:waterhad proven itself to be an effective cure for Scraplets, and he used the station's hose to eliminate the infection. Goldbug then asked Jim and Ernie if he could borrow the station's phone to contact its parent company's corporate headquarters. After his call, he drove off, leaving the dumbfounded attendants behind.The Cure!
