TheM9-2 Harpoon Gunis a weapon developed bySector Seven,under the direction ofRebecca Howard.The initial prototype was completed in 2003. Featuring an armor-piercing projectile that weighs 21.2 kilograms, the weapon has a range of 55 meters with a muzzle velocity of 324 meters per second.

Four years later, after rescuingSam WitwickyandMikaela BanesfromAgent Simmons,the Autobots found themselves on the run from Sector Seven reinforcements. AsOptimus Primehid in the spans under a bridge, Mikaela and Sam both fell when Sector Seven helicopters passed below. They were saved from a messy death when Bumblebee transformed and caught them both in mid-air. However, this provided a target for the Sector Seven helicopters, which were armed with the M9-2 Harpoons. They lassoed and dragged Bumblebee to the ground with ease as the Autobot refused to fight back against his captors. Sector Seven cryo units then moved in to freeze Bumblebee, who was tied fast by the cables.Transformers
