Rook was one of the countless second generation Transformers serving under Jhiaxus on theTwilight.

After contact was made with the first generationAutobots,Rook was thoroughly puzzled by his ancestors' war, not understanding the difference between "Autobot" and "Decepticon"; Jhiaxus merely assured him that, whatever they were called, they were nothing more than evolutionary throwbacks.War Without End!

After encountering somepsychic parasitesthat brought about a barbaric side to himself he had though long buried, Jhiaxus ordered Rook to exterminate the organisms to help him forget the whole incident.Primal Fear!As the war against their predecessors continued, Rook noticed that the stress was beginning to tell on Jhiaxus.Old EvilsHe continued to observe and worry as his commander's ice-cold demeanor of control and amoral objectivity continued slipping and he began reverting to the mad tyrant he once was.New DawnHe continued to act as Jhiaxus's aide-de-camp during the battle onEarth.Total War!

After being thrown about by Jhiaxus once too often, Rook decided that the situation was spiraling out of control, and he made contact with the Liege Maximo.Dark Shadows!At some point after this, he apparently abandoned his post, as he was next seen reporting in person to theLiege Maximoat theHub.A Rage in Heaven!

Rook reported to Jhiaxus that someone had beaten them toCresta Superior,and there were traces ofAllSparkresidue in the wreckage that implied their "ancestors" were responsible.Destiny, Part One

When Jhiaxus returned to Cybertron, where he scheduled a meeting with the newly christenedRodimus Prime,Rook and the rest of his team,Primum Fugae,accompanied their leader to the planet's surface. As Jhiaxus accompanied Rodimus toNova Pointfor a private talk, Rook and the rest of his squad took to the skies, arriving atCamp Zero,an Autobot-constructed shanty town for thePrimordial Cybertronians.Rook and his troops proceeded to slaughter the beasts, and were engaged by the Autobots, who intended to stop them. The battle ended when Rook received a message from Jhiaxus to depart the planet.The War to End All Wars, Part 2

Rook remained at Jhiaxus's side when they returned to the Hub'sThroneworldand informed him when theWreckersattacked the Hub Network from within its "slam rail"transit system, causing planets that had already been assimilated to become disconnected from the Network.

Later, whenStarscreamarrived on the Throneworld and the energies of theUnderbasebegan absorbing Jhiaxus, he called for Rook to help him. However, Rook fled in terror, leaving his leader to his fate.The War to End All Wars, Part 4
