While fleeing the forces ofGalvatron,a shuttle containingHot Rod,Kup,and theDinobotscrash-landed on Quintessa. Hot Rod and Kup wound up on the metallic bed of a shallow sea, surrounded by vicious predators, and Kup was attacked and dismembered by a giant sea squid. When Kup called out for help, Hot Rod attempted to save him, though was soon wrapped up in crushing tentacles himself. Even as Hot Rod used his buzzsaw to cut tentacles off, the loudly bellowing squid was undeterred in its attack- but when a point-blank shot from Hot Rod destroyed one of its eyes, the squid retreated in a cloud of ink.The Transformers: The Movie
