Stranded onEarthafter the crash of theAlchemor,the cunning and ruthlessSteeljawassembledSteeljaw's Pack.With theDecepticonmovement in shambles following the restoration ofCybertronand the surrender ofMegatron,Steeljaw sees the gang as the first step towards assembling a new army: one that will turn Earth into a Decepticon utopia underhisbenevolent leadership. Hand-picked from the prisoner manifest of the wrecked ship, gang members tend to be tough, nasty, and violent–a dark mirror ofBumblebee's ownBee Team.Members can be easily identified by their trademark slashed-out Decepticon insignia, disabling the tracking devices that would otherwise allow theAutobotsto find them.

But unfortunately for Steeljaw, his underlings don't share the same lofty ambitions as he does. Many of them are destructive, short-sighted, or prone to lashing out, forcing Steeljaw to play mediator, while others are simply too cowardly to hold up in a prolonged fight. Perhaps that's why Steeljaw has no qualms about cutting his losses when things go catastrophically wrong, abandoning his former teammates to the Autobots while he makes his escape.

Steeljawstarted up his pack when he ambushed the waywardThunderhoofafter aspace bridgeconstruction gone wrong, slashed his Decepticon insignia, and invited him to the group. Well, every group has their humble beginnings, right?As the Kospego Commands!At some point, the two inducted thecyber-tickMinitroninto their ranks and began usingCrown River Damas a temporary base of operations. Steeljaw had Minitron hijack the DinobotGrimlockin an attempt to increase their ranks by stealing stasis pods containing Decepticons captured byBumblebee's teamand releasing them. Minitron succeeded in gettingUnderbitefor Steeljaw who was promptly added to the team, but before more Decepticons could be liberated Bumblebee's team intervened, leading Steeljaw with Underbite to escape and abandon Minitron.True Colors

Steeljaw relocated to a new base: an abandoned steel mill. They were joined byFracture,stranded on Earth after trying to seize the bounty on Bumblebee's head. Later still, Steeljaw discoveredClampdown,a former snitch who was trying to keep a low profile on Earth. Both of them joined the gang... although not without some reservations on Thunderhoof's part, since Clampdown's antics had landed the former crime Boss in jail. While Thunderhoof tried to take out Clampdown, the team wound up tangling with Bumblebee's Autobots. They were momentarily captured, but Steeljaw managed to cause a distraction. The team reconvened at their base, where Steeljaw formally inducted Clampdown into the new gang.Sideways

WhenFixitpicked up Decepticon signals from the Crown City Tunnels, Bumblebee initially believed them to belong to Steeljaw's pack.Even Robots Have Nightmares

Seeking to reinforce their numbers, Steeljaw recruitedKickbackas a patsy. While the Autobots went to investigate the tied-up Decepticon, Steeljaw broke in and took over the Autobot's scrapyard base, intending to deactivate thestasis podsthat held the recapturedAlchemorprisoners. Ultimately, the pack was defeated. Humiliated and furious, Steeljaw ordered his team to leave him alone. Soon, he was contacted byMegatronus,who requested his help in escaping from another dimension. Steeljaw reluctantly agreed to serve this mysterious being.LockoutThe pack set about constructing a gate for their new employer, but soon ran afoul of the Autobots. After taking Strongarm, Sideswipe, and Windblade hostage, the team managed to set up a gate outside theCrown City Colossus.Battlegrounds, Part 1Megatronus soon made himself known, but his desire to obliterate the Earth entirely ran contrary to Steeljaw's dream of ruling the place. Steeljaw was hurled away telekinetically, and the rest of the Pack were trounced by Bumblebee's team, now including a rebornOptimus Prime.Battlegrounds, Part 2

Seeking to rebuild his power base, Steeljaw approached Kickback again, only to discover that he had fallen in with another group ofAlchemorescapees led byGlowstrike,Saberhorn,andScorponok.Metal MeltdownSteeljaw allied himself with this triumvirate, launching another raid on the Autobot base. Steeljaw managed to spring a gang of prisoners, get Scorponok out of the way by having Bumblebee catch him, and return his new team to the Decepticon headquarters; where Glowstrike was pleased with Steeljaw's cadre of "Elite Warriors".Misdirection

Now having earned the trust of Glowstrike and Saberhorn, Steeljaw dispatched his new team on various missions, aimed at scavenginghumantechnology to rebuild the wrecked stern of theAlchemor.BiskandQuillfirewere unsuccessful in their missions, and were recaptured by Bumblebee's team.Bumblebee's Night OffImpoundedSteeljaw met with his pack while Glowstrike and Saberhorn were away, interrupting a squabble between Clampdown and Thunderhoof concerning leadership. He considered using his pack to stage a blunt coup, but decided against it.PortalsThe remains of Steeljaw's pack tangled with the Autobots when they launched a direct raid on theAlchemor.Decepticon Island (Part 1)They were ultimately defeated and frozen with aStasis bomb.Decepticon Island (Part 2)

Freed from captivity bymysterious benefactorson Cybertron, Steeljaw and his Pack (now consisting of himself, Thunderhoof, Underbite, Clampdown, and Quillfire) were sent back to Earth to destroy the Autobots there in return for immunity for their crimes. The Pack drove the Autobots out of their scrapyard base with an all-out assault, but subsequently lost track of them. The Pack attacked the Crown River Dam to draw them out; they were successful in doing so, but were defeated in battle and left to drift down the river while the Autobots repaired the damage to the dam.Exiles

The Pack managed to capture Bumblebee, Sideswipe, and Strongarm but when Fixit freed them thanks to some quick thinking and so the Pack were forced to retreat.Breathing RoomSoon after the Pack got orders from astrange and threating voicecoming from theShadowzoneto steal radiation rods on behave of their mutual benefactors.Prepare for DepartureThey were eventually recapted thanks in part of Strongarm's efforts and Clampdown trying to save himself as usual; all but Steeljaw himself managed to escape.Prisoner PrinciplesOnce the the Bee Team reclaimed the scrapyard the Pack were put back into stasis pods; Underbite made things difficult by eating a piece of theGroundBridgebut he too was returned to stasis as well.Something He AteAfterCyclonuswas defeated, Steeljaw still remains at large to rebuild his pack yet again.Freedom Fighters
