No,Tackeris that other guy. The green one.

Tackle(タックルTakkuru),Multiforce's "Warrior of the Earth", lives up to his title. A rugged outdoorsbot, Tackle is the team's survivalist, taking on the elements with a smile. He loves the wilds ofEarthand takes every opportunity to explore them, climbing the mountains and traveling the deserts. He's even taken up fishing as a hobby. He can also turn the environment against his foes, channeling energy into earthquake-like attacks.

Though he's often alone in the wild, he shares a very close bond with his teammateMach, who often finds himself alone in orbit above the planet. Despite the vast distances, the two still coordinate to bring down their foes, and spend most of their time together combined intoMachtackle.

Tackle defeated theBreastforcememberKillbisonwithout having to fire a single shot by making him so dizzy theDecepticonsimply collapsed. Considering the usual combat effectiveness of the Breastforce members, this is an accomplishment on par with Davidbot versus Goliathtron. Later he trouncedJallguar, teaching him how to impersonate an ostrich. Pretty impressive work for a pair of pants.Mach and Tackle

Micromaster

While testing out stealth technology, Tackle and the rest of the Multiforce stumbled through a dimensional rift that brought them years into the past. There, Micromasters battled over Mount St. Hillary, where Optimus Prime, Megatron, and their troops slumbered within the Ark. Before Wing could introduce him to the local Autobots, the Multiforce had to head out to meet a Decepticon threat. Tackle, use... tackle.
  • Machtackle(Multiforce,1989)
  • ID number:C-318
  • Accessories:"Multi-Tackle Gun", Landcross footplate
  • Known designers:Kōjin Ōno(TakaraTomy)
Sold in a two-pack with his partnerMachin theVictoryportion of Takara'sFight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformerstoyline, Tackle transforms into a pickup truck of indeterminate model with a camper bed-attachment. In vehicle mode, he can mount Landcross's footplate on his roof as a double-cannon.
He can also transform into either the upper or lower half of a two-robot combiner, though his nominal combination is with his pack-in partner Mach, forming the bottom half ofMachtackle.
He canalso alsoform any limb toLandcross, with his default placement as the left leg. If used as a leg,Tackerneeds to be used as the other leg, otherwise the two legs will beverydifferent lengths. Intheoryhe can also form part of the super robot torso (as the entire team shares the same general engineering and transformation scheme), but he lacks the proper connections to attach limb-bots or super robot armor.
In 1995, the three Multiforce two-packs were released in mainland China as part of the severely-delayedHasbro-distributedChineseTransformerstoyline.They came in slightly-modified versions of their original packaging, with the characters' names now written in Chinese, and the Japanese Transformers logo replaced with a similarly styled Chinese language logo saying "Battles of Victory" ( thắng lợi chi đấu tranh ). They toys themselves are also slightly modified, with their molded-on legal/manufacturing information blotted out and modified to remove Takara's name.

  • Landcross(Gift set, 1989)
  • ID number:C-319
  • Accessories:"Multi-Tackle Gun", Landcross footplate
  • Known designers:Kōjin Ōno(TakaraTomy)
Tacker was also available in a gift set containing the entire Multiforce team. All of the toys in this set are physically identical to their individual releases.
However, this set doesnotinclude the bio/trading cards for any of the component duos, only the combined Landcross mode.

Micromaster

  • Tackle(DX Micromaster,2002)
  • Micromaster ID number:6
  • Accessories:"Multi-Tackle Gun", Landcross footplate
Released in the final wave ofMicromasteras a "DXMicromaster",this reissue of Tackle was sold in a single-bot box. The box has a small hole in the front to show a number printed on the instructions, revealing which toy is inside.
Tackle has undergone the most significant color changes of the team: aside from the black joints changing to dark gunmetal (a change made to the entire team), his orange plastic is now significantly lighter and paler. His robot mode faces have changed to silver with red optics. The yellow "vent" stickers on his chest also have much thinner black borders, meaning a lot more yellow inside. In truck mode, he has lost the window deco on his camper cover, and an Autobot symbol has been added to the passenger-side hood.

  • Tackle Stealth Mode(DX Micromaster, 2002)
  • Micromaster ID number:6
  • Accessories:"Multi-Tackle Gun", Landcross footplate
A special "chase" version of Tackle was also available, in mostly black plastic and minimal paint operations.
All six members were available in "stealth mode", but only two out of every twelve toys in a case were black versions, and which two the case had was randomized. And no, you can't peek in through the hole in the box to see if it's a chase or not, as the instructions block it off.
