Trench was an Autobot refugee onEarthwho had apparently been taken in byCade Yeagerand the other Autobots. He seemed content to do little save sit around in alt mode around thescrap yard,taking little notice asGrimlockstomped by. When the Decepticons andTRFdiscovered their refuge, he transformed and prepared to joinHoundin holding off their enemies while thehumansand Autobots escaped. He was not seen again and it is unclear if he was slain by the Decepticons as he was not seen joining the Autobots in going toEngland.The Last Knight

- In 2017, not long after the release ofThe Last Knight,Caterpillarran a company-wide vote to give a name to the "Excavator Autobot" seen in the movie, with "Trench" being the winner.[1]
- Trench shares the samebody-typeasScrapperand, by extension,Scrapmetal.
- Separately, "Trench" was also an unused2001alternate name for theBeast MachinescharacterDillo.
