- The V-Star is a component of Star Saber from theVictory portionof theGeneration 1 continuity family.
On its own, theV-Star(VスターBui Sutā) is a flying weapons platform, able to be controlled remotely byAutobotleaderStar Saber,or, on occasion, piloted byJan Minakaze.In addition, it connects to Star Saber's Saber form in both robot and vehicle mode, providing him with more power and weapons. Due to the V-Star's size, it's usually found parked inShuttle Base's hangar deck or in the maintenance bay, at least when Star Saber isn't using it.

The Decepticons continued to steal energy. On one particular attempt,Hellbatattempted to divert Star Saber to prevent him from pursuing Leozack. Star Saber responded by separating from the V-Star, which continued the pursuit while Star Saber dealt with Hellbat. The V-Star was able to shoot the rope tethering the container of energy to Leozack, and the Decepticon got away empty-handed.Attack the Shuttle Base!!When the Decepticons planted aneutron bombatopMarine Tower,Braverused the V-Star to ride to the top of the tower so he could begin dismantling the bomb. The V-Star was again utilised to destroy some tractor beams, during an altercation in theasteroid beltwhen Star Saber investigated some starship disappearances and stumbled on yet another Decepticon plan. It proceeded to attack Hellbat while Star Saber was busy brawling with the rest of theBreastforce,going on to attack theThunder Arrowand the Dinoforce while thehumanprisoners were evacuated.A Fierce Battle!! When the Autobots visited the planetMicro,the V-Star spent most of the time parked outside the capitol building. Perhaps getting wise to this, Leozak, Guyhawk and Hellbat used theirElectromagnetic Nunchakuto attach a bomb to the rear of the V-Star. Star Saber transformed and tried to detach it to no avail — the bomb exploded in his face. The V-Star crashed, but the Breastforce attacked him anew, forcing him to combine with it in robot mode to face them.A Deadly BattleWith the addition ofVictory Leoto the team, the V-Star wasn't used as much independently, though Jan and the Micromasters were seen polishing it up before Star Saber left for a conference.A Mystery?! On one occasion, whenLiokaiserhad Star Saber and Jan in his grip, the Autobot leader took advantage of the fact that the Breastforce were busy arguing and separated from the V-Star, loosing the pair from the combiner's grip. Jan, in control of the V-Star, transformed it into a special battle mode, blasting Liokaiser while Star Saber whacked the Decepticon solidly with his shield.Star of Friendship, Jan and Star Saber!

- Star Saber(Large Brainmaster,1989)
- The V-Star originally came with Star Saber's toy. In grand Autobot leader tradition, it transforms into a battle station which Saber can man, and then into a larger body with which Saber can combine, forming "Star Saber". Saber slots into the empty chest area of the V-Star body, with his normal robot head forming Star Saber's ordinary, unmasked head, which is the appearance he commonly employs in fiction when he is not in battle. His battle helmet, featuring an Optimus-Prime-style mouthplate, is connected to the V-Star, and can swing up to fit over Saber's head.

Masterpiece
- MasterpieceStar Saber was chosen by fans on theMasterpieceFan's Choice poll and announcedNovember 19,2013.Hisashi Yukiled theMasterpieceStar Saber project, rather than the usualMasterpiecedesigner,Shogo Hasui,so the creation of Star Saber did not derail the other ongoingMasterpiecereleases.
- Star Saber keeps most of the features the original toy had, including the V-Star which the smaller Saber figure can combine with.

- The secondHasLabcrowdfunded figure forTransformers,"Autobot Star Saber"spacecraft and the larger V-Star jet, which can combine to form a spaceship.
- The Saber figure and the V-Star can combine into the Commander-sized Star Saber mode. The V-Star portion that forms most of the combined Star Saber's body features butterfly joints at his arms to aid with posing his sword.
- Saber and the V-Star can also combine with the includedVictory Leofigure to form Victory Saber; giving him either a cathedral-sized spaceship mode, or a robot mode with beefed-up legs and extra shoulder cannons formed from Victory Leo's V-Lock Rifles.
