Overview

- Void Rivals'status as the launch for the Energon Universe was kept secret for almost the entirety of the comic's promotion, with Kirkman only revealing its existence to retailers just before the first issue's FOC date. It would ultimately be leaked by Bleeding Cool a few days before release.
- While it was initially speculated thatVoid Rivals'status as an original creation meant it would be owned by Skybound, the copyright notice for the series, placed at the back of issue 1, reads "VOID RIVALS and all related characters are trademarks ofHasbroand are used with permission. © 2023 Hasbro...Licensed by Hasbro. "and includes the Hasbro logo. One has to wonder if that's how Kirkman got Hasbro to even sign off on the idea in the first place. Kirkman and De Felici are given additional credit acknowledging them as the creators ofVoid Rivalsstarting with issue #2.
