Main Rules
1) You must only use gear available before the bosses you’re nohitting. So if you’re trying to nohit, say, Plantera, you must use Pre-Plantera Gear only.
Your gear must be from either Calamity or Vanilla, so no Fargo’s Souls or any other mods’ items. You should also show what gear you’re using before or after you nohit the boss, just to be safe.
The Community and other scaling items can’t be powered past the boss you’re nohitting.
Quality of Life mods that don’t affect a nohit directly, whether via new potions or new mechanics, are allowed. Examples of this include MaxStackPlus, Infinity, Fargo’s Mutant, Cheat Sheet. Things that aren’t allowed include Omniswing, Antisocial, Wingslot, Unlimited Buff Slots, flight time indicator mods, etc.
LuiAFK Unlimited buff items and AlchNPC combination Potions are not allowed, However the infinite durations gained from having a stack of 30-60+ potions some mods add is fine. (Luiafk’s custom unlimited potions do not take buff slots thus they are banned)
If you forgot to show your gear, it’s alright. Just write it down in your video’s description or comment. The only times where you really must show your gear is at SCal and the Exo Mechs.
Hydra, Magnum (and its upgrades), and Bazooka are banned from nohits, no exceptions.
Actuators are not allowed Pre-Skeletron as they’re not available until then, unless they have no effect on the fight (e.g. boss fights that have no biome requirements).
This also applies to Fargo’s Mutant Mod’s feature with biome-changing fountains as they perform a similar role.
These things are allowed even if normally not obtainable at that point of progression (or if from other mods):
Vanity items
Pets
An extra unused accessory slot
Other mod accessories that have no effect on the fight (for example, a LuiAFK accessory that only gives building speed)
Items in inventory that have no function
Zen potion or any other means to disable/reduce spawns
These things are never allowed before being normally obtainable:
Light pets
Permanent Power-ups past progression
Life upgrades are excluded from this, as they shouldn’t have an effect on the nohit.
Any sequence breaking item being used even if it supposedly has no effect on the nohit.
2) If you get hit by something, but you don’t take any damage from it because of dodging gears such as Counter Scarf, Master Ninja Gear, or Purified Jam, your run will still be disqualified anyway. So it’s best to not equip any dodging gear if possible. The best way to ensure safety is to use the Armageddon right click, which disables all dodges but keeps bonks/rams. If you have this enabled, the following list does not apply.
Bonking something with a slime mount a couple times is alright, as long as you didn’t use it to cheese a boss by spamming it.
Bonking something with the Shield of Cthulhu or ramming with Ornate Shield (or its upgrades) is allowed.
Using the God Slayer Dash is allowed, but dodging through a projectile with it will disqualify your nohit.
3) Normality Relocator is allowed for post-ML nohits onwards, but until then, even just having it in your inventory will count as breaking main rule 1. Your nohits may also be judged stricter if you do use it, depending on how much you’re taking advantage of the instant usage nature of the item which doesn’t require swapping equipment (especially with powerful weapons that have slow use speed), so if it’s not truly necessary for you to use it, it’s best to just stick with RoD.
Any form of RoD hotkey via another mod is not allowed.
4) It must be singleplayer, with sounds on at all times so the reviewers will know that you’re not purposefully slowing down the game for the no hits to make it a lot easier, then speeding it up when you upload the no hits video to make it seem like normal speed.
You cannot abuse frameskip to slow down the game whether intentionally or unintentionally, and the same applies to auto pausing (In fact you should disable it while nohitting).
However, if the lag/slowdowns can’t be avoided because of a potato pc/Mac/Linux or because of the recording software, then it’s alright as long as the lag/slowdown isn’t too much.
If time is unfrozen, Please keep a Platinum/Gold Watch in your inventory to show in-game time.
It also is helpful to enable Terraria’s FPS Counter (Fn+F10), especially when lag is an issue or if time is freezed via another mod such as HERO’s Mod.
5) When trying to get the “Defiled Soul” role, all nohits must be in the same difficulty, either on Revengeance or Death.
6) Malice Nohits:
Malice mode Timed Damage Reduction must be enabled for all malice nohits. In essence this means a malice boss cannot have been already beaten or its death state toggled, nor any boss on a higher tier from it. (the tiers:

Malice Mode challenge drops are allowed, but only on a tier-based system. Once you have beaten every boss on a specific tier, you can use any challenge drop from any boss on that tier for the subsequent bosses. The tiers go as follows:
KS/DS/EoC/Crab > EoW/BoC > Hive/QB/Perfs > Skeletron/SG/WoF > Mechs/Alts > Clone/Plant > Aureus/Levi > Golem/PBG/Ravager/Fishron > Cultist/Deus > ML/Guardians/Folly > Provi/Sentinels > Polter/OD/DoG.
After DoG, items can be used immediately after unlocking them (for example, Yharim’s crystal (Yharon’s Challenge drop) could be used on Scal or the Exo Mechs.)
All Challenge drops can be used on Adult Eidolon Wyrm, and all challenge drops can be used on Boss Rush.
In Malice Mode nohit journeys, challenge drops from a boss can be used immediately after that boss’s death.
