As Grumpy might bellow, “Theanniversary!It’shere!”
AsABC‘sOnce Upon a Timemarks 10 years since itswell-watched premiere, what better time to look way, wayback to when it all began, with this “encore presentation” of our pilotquiz?[pmc_inline_gallery]
Any fan worth their salt remembers the general plot of the fantastical series’ first episode, in which a wee lad named Henry (played by Jared Gilmore) tracked down and told his birth mother, Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison), that he hailed from a Maine burg populated by amnesic fairytale characters.
Along the way, it is revealed that Emma is no less than the daughter of Prince Charming (Josh Dallas) and Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) — though it will takemanymore episodes for the Boston-based bail bondsman to accept her far-out lineage!
The quiz below (first published ahead of the series finale), however, will test your recall of somefinerpoints from the pilot — from street addresses and license plates to the first words uttered by major characters.Feel up to diving in without a recent-ish rewatch? Question 10’s answer is wrong! The song playing was The Black Keys’ ‘Howlin’ for You’, not Gary Glitter’s ‘Rock and Roll’!
Exclamation point is a bit much, butyes, that has been fixed. Thanks for the catch! –Mgmt.
HA do I got that one right
This show is one of my favorites. I am ashamed at how horrible I did. But it was so long ago so that’s my excuse.
I think my score of 69% is a sign I need to rewatch. So many of these I instantly regretted but I wasn’t able to change my mind:(
I just finished marathoning all seven seasons for the second time since I first watched and marathoned the show last year. I scored 57%. I don’t feel bad. Most of those questions pertain to obscure minutia in the grand scheme of the show.
Enjoyed the first season, but then found it a case of diminishing returns in storytelling quality. I bailed after, I think, season 3.
This was exactly me and a few others I know. First season was so good then after one of the characters dies it completely stopped the show in its tracks.
Question 1’s answer is incorrect. The last title card before we see Charming on the horse is “This is how it happened…”
Yeah, I thought so too, and I was pissed when it said I got it wrong. But looked it up on YouTube and sure enough, we’re both right!
All fixed!Sorry ’bout that, when we ported this quiz over to a new gizmo, it defaulted to all correct answers being “A.” Thought I caught them all.
“You scored 57%! Sorry, but you did not pass the quiz.” Although I feel like a winner cause this show premiered 10 years ago and my memory is not the sharpest lol. And there is a few little details about it that I remember until this day… So yeah, I’m kinda happy.
Was a decent show for the first three seasons then it went downhill quickly the writers wrote for the ships instead of the story. This soon set the trend for most TV survival trends since. A shame like it had so much potential.
I got 89% on the quiz. Not bad. But I think I might have to rewatch the the show again and again.
Such a fun little quiz to bring back memories. I think you meant to say ‘What website’ instead of ‘When website’ for Question 25.
I got one wrong and a score of 97%! Go, me!! Thought for sure I had the right answer for #1. Alas, I did not. BOO!!!
Bring the show back. I want to see Emma and Hook with the baby, David and Mary M with the son. I want to see everyone. Like this could have kept going.
I don’t see it ever coming back with a 22-episode per season revival with the core original cast. However, if the right story comes along, I could see a one-off limited series run on ABC or Disney Plus, that picks up a few years down the line from the end of season 7.
Remember also that Belle and Rumpelstiltskin were last seen together in the afterlife.
also one of the actors that played the dwarfs passed away in an accident two years ago
*one of the dwarfs
That doesn’t excuse the fact that Sneezy can be recast.. It happens.
That doesn’t mean they show can’t go on without them both.
There is no way they would continue after s7 because it wasn’t popular or a big it. They would only retcon it in a revival. Studios always do that in revivals of shows. We seen it happen.
I don’t think there’s any sense dragging out the story unnecessarily.
Though saying that I would love to read an article on here about where the series could realistically go should it ever be revived. I just think the ending kind of closed the narrative and gave everyone the happiest ending they could expect.
Walt Disney does have a stake in the Kingdom Hearts franchise and that alone could make an interesting narrative for the show but it probably couldn’t be done on a network tv budget. Too much VFX would be needed.
This is where you are wrong. The show was left open ended and those were not happy endings. Only happy beginnings. Also there are loose ends and unfinished stories that still need endings such as 1) killing off the murderers of both Charming’s and Henry’s fathers (just like they already did with Hades, Cora and Arthur for the murders other hero’s parents), 2) make Emma and Lily learn that they hurt the wrong people and learn that Isaac Heller is the culprit, 3) Mulan’s ending, etc
A revival may happen because of it’s tenth anniversary. But here’s the fact, there is no way they would bring up the CS failure of the show or bring up the baby because it wasn’t popular or a great success. They would only retcon it anyway. Also, the loose end of the murder of Charming’s father is left without an ending, that’s killing off the murderer, Hook the codfish. Thanks to a hint from one of the writers from an Ask Me Anythkng Board, it was hinted in a potential revival when asked about a revival and the loose ends/unfinished stories. This would happen, whether people or you would like it or not. Same thing for the loose end of the murder of Henry’s father, where Zelena is destined to die for it, and destined for her death because of a prophecy in s3. There’s nothing you can do about it. Besides, since the Charmings proved to be the more popular one.
The quizz is named how well do you know the pilot, but some of your questions are about other episodes. it should be called How well do you know OUAT. INSTEAD OF WHAT YOU NAMED IT.
All questions are from the pilot.I literally rewatched the pilot and wrote down questions to ask. –Mgmt.
What’s sad is that this series went so far left field that the initial reasons why I liked it at first were long gone.
What a shame.
I loved Regina and the Queen of Hearts.
43%. Not great. But I did love the show. Especially, that first season. I was obsessed.
