collection documentation and notes (William H. Davis was a federal legislative archivist having worked at the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) for 33 years. He spent most of those years with NARA's Center for Legislative Archives that hold the records of the legislative branch of the US Government, including the records of the U.S Senate and House of Representatives. Mr. Davis is cited in hundreds of books and scholarly journal articles covering a broad range of historical topics and also appeared on C-Span. After retiring in 2016, he became a volunteer archivist with the Washington Hebrew Congregation in Washington DC preparing and mounting exhibits and publishing articles on the history of the congregation. Mr. Davis grew up on Long Island, NY and his extended family comes from the New York City metropolitan area.)
