Warwick Moore; Joseph Warwick Moore; born July 21, 1869 in Worcester; he excelled on the violin and piano; by the age of 20, he was first violinist at the Drury Lane Theatre in London; about this time, his first tunes came into print; from 1911 he frequently used the pseudonym Emile Gastelle; for several years he worked as a freelance musical director in theatres around the country; in April 1897 he became Musical Director at the Theatre Royal, Bournemouth, and in 1899 at the Grand Theatre, Southampton, holding this post until his death; his incidental music, however, was used in other productions around the country; in the 1911 Census he was described as a Professor of Music, living in Southampton; publishers printed his piano compositions at a prodigious rate, and several were recorded; died December 27, 1931)‏
