WikiConference North America 2024was the eleventh annual gathering of Wikimedians, institutions, and professionals from across North America, including Canada, the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America. Our theme was"Crossroads",inspired by theIndiana state mottoand also alluding to the multiple meanings of the word—as the place where Wikimedians from across the continentcross paths,as well as what we hope will be aturning pointfor participants.
The event was held atIndiana University Indianapolisin Indianapolis, Indiana, from October 4–6, 2024.
On Thursday, October 3, there was a Wiki Culture Crawl during the day, and the opening night cocktail reception.

History
WikiConference North America User Groupwas formed in 2016 after that year's conference. It is a recognized Affiliate by the Wikimedia Foundation. The purpose of the User Group is to assure that the experiences gained at one conference are shared with future year conference organizers. The mission of the User Group includes coordinating the planning and hosting of events under our purview.
Additionally, the User Group documents best practices and shares lessons learned with other Wikimedia communities planning and hosting conferences and similar events. In2020,2021and2022WikiConference North America were online. We returned in person in2023.
