U2 has secured the top spot as the highest-earning band in the UK and Ireland for the year 2024, according to latest data.
Originally formed in Dublin in 1976, the Irish rock band comprising Bono, the Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr., has amassed a staggering £106 million from just 23 shows in Las Vegas this year, drawing in over 382,000 fans.
Pollstar’s report highlights U2’s significant lead, nearly £30 million ahead of their closest competitors, Coldplay, who have earned approximately £80 million so far.
Coldplay’s earnings include their electrifying performance at the recent Glastonbury Festival, as reported by The Mirror.
Other notable earners include Depeche Mode with £40 million, Sir Paul McCartney with £35 million from nine shows, and Ed Sheeran with £12 million from six performances.
Comedian Peter Kay and former One Direction member Niall Horan both brought in £10 million each.
The 1975, Take That, and James Blunt also made substantial earnings from their respective tours.
Pollstar couldn’t include figures from Adele’s Las Vegas shows, as she doesn’t disclose her earnings.
Similarly, Taylor Swift’s financial details remain undisclosed.
