National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) has 11 research bases nationwide.AIST Kyushu is the only base of AIST in Kyushu and Okinawa regions.

AIST Kyushu promotes both cutting-edge R & Ds on measurement/sensing and transferring the results of them to industry. In such a way, it contributes to realize the smart manufacturing and manufacturing networks.

As the only contact point of AIST in Kyushu and Okinawa, it also plays a role in both offering information and gathering the needs of industry, and acts as a hub for industry-academia-government collaboration to contribute to the creation of innovation in the regions.
