Unfortunately, rare doesn't add up to good and it's fair to say the quality is pretty uneven. My favorites are the Squirrel Girl orign story from Marvel Superheroes #8 from#2 from 1992, The Franling Richards Special from 2007, the New Warriors #2 from 2005 and the aforementioned Journey Into Mystery. The rest are kind of okay. However, due to rarity, this might be a nice one for a collection if you could get it at a good price.

Disappointing - with NO classics!!!
I bought this after enjoying the Pet Avengers TPB's, and Annihilation Classic - which is a great book giving u the origins of major cosmic characters. I expected the Pet Avengers Classic to be similar to Annihilation Classic and give us origins of the characters in the Pet Avengers series
The cover is misleading. It shows Frog Thor and a red dinosaur, which I expected to be Devil Dinosuar so was looking forward to a Devil Dinosaur/Moon Boy story ---- instead there are NO dinosaurs throughout the whole collection, and there's NO Frog Thor either...although he's central to the main Pet Avengers books!
Their are no 'origin' stories here at all other than Zabu's, but what's worse is that over half of this book has no relevance to Pet Avengers characters at all. It's just a random collection of Marvel animal stories, and also includes a story of Squirrel Girl and Red Wolf.....although they are people and not animals!!
Here's the list of collected stories:
Thing (2006) #4 - stupid Lockjaw story about him getting something stuck in his paw
Captain America (1978) #220 - just 5 pages from it. about Redwing
Kazar (1982) #14-15 - Zabu's 'origin'
x-Men Unlimited (2003) - a 9 page Lockheed story
MCP (1991) #72 - Red Wolf
Speedball (1989) #6 - a Niels story
Marvel Tales (1979) #100 - a 9 page Two Gun kid story
Marvel Super Heroes (1992) #8 - Squirrel Girl
Amazing Fantasy (2006) #15 - Amadaous/Kirby story
Fantastic Four (1970) #94 - a witches cat
The New Defenders (1985) #150 - a dog
New Mutants Annual (1988) #4 - Brightwind story
Frankling Richards Franksgiving (2007) - a giant rat
New Warriors (2005) #2 - Super Apes
Journey Into Mystery (1960) #57 - I think there's 2 panels with a dog in it.
NOTHING to do with Pet Avengers then!
