I'm really enjoying reading through Edith Nesbit's works! Previously the only thing I'd read of hers was The Railway Children (one of my favorite kids' books) and a few short stories. Now, reading through this collection, she's rapidly becoming one of my favorite authors. This is full of engaging children's stories and novels--I'm currently reading through the Bastables and laughing my head off--; adult short stories and novels, poetry, and a few autobiographies. I feel like Edith must have been a nice person to know. Her stories are delightfully written and engaging. This edition is good for Kindle with a good table of contents that makes it easy to find everything.

Be aware that the last 2 chapters of "House of Arden" are not in their proper place but are attached for some mysterious reason to the end of "The Phoenix and the Carpet"....
