I've found Reynolds Plastic Wrap (actually the Rose-tinted wrap that I can't find anymore) to be the best. I say this because, in addition to using it for food, I use it to cover oil paint on my art palette. I could not tell you if it worked the best for food, but I can say it works the best at preserving my paint of any I've tried. At least the rose-tinted wrap did. We shall see if the clear works as well.
