This cookbook is part of the healthy living plan that includes a book, devotional and journal - all great resources for healthier living plan - not a diet - for our life! This cookbook leads those who love to cook and are good at cooking, to greater knowledge with "clean" ingredients. Those who do not feel they are as talented in their cooking skills will find the instructions easy to follow - the recipes are well thought out, and provide healthy AND delicious food as the end result. The photographs are inspiring to help with presentation of the food. My husband and I are enjoying the benefits of this cookbook's recipes mostly at dinner. However, there are great recipes for those hurried mornings that you need to grab and go also. I've been inspired to try some new meals that include fresh vegetables along with the herbs and spices available to me. It has been a win-win; great clean, healthy food, and very good tastes.

I never bought into different diets out there because I ate my fruits and veggies and that was enough, so I thought. I never had high cholesterol, high blood pressure, etc. The only reason I agreed to start this plan at the request of my best friend was because I could still eat chicken, fish and beef. I started the 10-day detox plan from the "The Daniel Plan" book with a group of folks from our church. This cookbook was released during the time following our detox period and when we started meeting in small group DVD study. It is currently the ONLY cookbook I am using. For someone new like me to the whole foods eating plan, the front section of the book is especially informative and helpful describing the differences in oils, sweeteners, how to stock your panty, etc. Eating organic I am finding to be a lot of reading labels and not necessarily budget friendly, but I'm learning to eat better and hoping the cost to eat healthier will be adjusted when more produce comes into season; or my husband will need to adjust our grocery budget! The Turkey Bean Chili, Mongolian Beef and Bittersweet Chocolate Cranberry Chews are just a few of my favorites from this book. I will say emphatically that this is the first time in about 20 years or so that I have physically felt really well.

Great recipes, but it confused me a bit until I did more research and found out the Daniel PLAN and the Daniel FAST are two different things. On the Daniel FAST you don't eat dairy, meat, fish, chicken, or eggs. And any bread you eat has to be unleavened (no baking powder, corn starch, or yeast). The Daniel PLAN is a healthy eating plan for when you're not doing the Daniel FAST.

I bought this book about 6 weeks ago. We've been using some printouts, the website recipes, this book, and a few vegan substitutes that I found online that also work. I have already broken the binding of the book! Because I flip around a lot to look at recipes and I am one of those people who follows recipes pretty precisely, so I am constantly checking to make sure I have the right amount of the ingredients. So far, I like most of the food. I love the chocolate pudding cups (we make them every other week) and the turkey chili and the fish tacos (though I use the creamy chipotle lime sauce on them) and the pizza dough recipe. The only recipe that I haven't liked was when I used gluten free bread crumbs in the meatloaf (it was not a loaf - it was a glob). But when I switched to whole wheat bread crumbs (had to make my own), it worked. The corn bread is OUTSTANDING and I will be making the chili just so that we can have the cornbread again. Seriously, an egg free, dairy free (we used almond milk), gluten free cornbread that is probably better than the jiffy boxed mix??? That's incredible.

They should have included tips on coconut whipped cream (it is delicious with berries or on the brownies).

All in all, I love this cookbook. I have used other "diet" cookbooks (south beach, cooking light, etc) and the recipes in here are way way more flavorful and edible and delicious. A job well done!

A very challenging but hopefully longlasting decision: I have to change my daily
food-schedule and also my attitude against "only food". I tested this way of eating only healthy things.
After only one week I had good results. My first goal isn't to loose that much weight (although that will be great) but I felt
better, full after the meal without eating too much. Lost 4 pounds in one week - good - but I felt more fit, slept better, wasn't that
tired in the afternoon. It sounds great and it is great - to see my body as a complete concept God has given: Body, heart and soul. Be work on my way of thinking about to nourish my body with everything good comes from God is such a helpfull idea, helpful mainly to understand what is not healthy - not doung good in my body like God intended.
Esay to read, easy to remember, not neccessary to study the book each day and for each reception - after getting theidea it'S so easy. Just eat the things as they are created. That's it. Love that I can eat my favourite things like fruits, everything with fullcorn, seeds, nuts, good oil, veggies, - many things most of the diets don't allow.

I would buy this cookbook even if I were not following the Daniel Plan! The book has beautiful pictures, and the recipes are easy to follow. They remind me of foods that my mom cooked when I was a child, full of flavor and good things!
