Top reviews from the United States

I see all these reviews where people are whining because there are a lot of ads. Well... yes, there are ads... it's a magazine! All magazines have lots of ads... it's how they sustain themselves when only charging you $5-$10/yr for a subscription. But, you know what else there is a lot of? Interesting content! And plenty of it. And relevant ads. I'm a DIY'er and Maker so I'm interested in the subject matter and they do a great job of tackling multiple subjects, have plenty of how-to's and education on actual stuff you need to know. What I love about this magazine most is the project ideas. They are awesome and do a great job of showing detailed instructions, pics, and tips. If you're a DIY'er or just an overall handy person that likes doing stuff around your house, this is a great magazine to check out monthly. And it's cheap!

This is the best magazine for projects, information and tips and tricks. I have been reading it for years and finally wised up and decided to subscribe to the digital version... so much easier to have a tablet in the workshop to read project instructions. I can always print off what I want and can search for items I want to find. No second thoughts, just a great value.

In my opinion, this magazine was worth the discounted rate for the subscription. Will I renew? That depends on the price come renewal time. There is another home improvement magazine that I like better, but it's more than 4 times the price. Typically, I read that magazine at the news stand quickly - focusing on the articles that perk my attention. Occasionally, there are no articles in either magazine that perk my interests. Family Handyman has good articles, very good descriptions of build projects, and good reviews of work tools.

I have always liked this magazine, ever since they started printing it! There are really great ideas in there. It's a lot more convenient to store digitally, although if I wanted to actually build something, I'd imagine I'd print it out.

I have no idea what warmth or thickness has to do with any magazine. But a digital one? Hmmm...

I have been reading Family Handyman for uncounted years - really, I have no idea when I started but this magazine (now online) has been in my home for so many years, now my two children who are out on their own are regular readers.

I enjoy all of the “How To’s” and all the little tricks - so much so that I find I am constantly looking up articles for projects to do now that I’m retired.

Nothing better than putzing around the shop following an article building something for the home or shop - and not necessarily mine.

Enjoy

Again, the magazine is excellent! This review pertains more to the electronic format. I read it on my Amazon Fire, which with its color screen, gives me all the visual aspects of the print version, without all the bulk of accumulated issues. The "problem" is that I had been in the habit of cutting pages of selected articles from the print version, or scanning them, to save the articles that I needed for projects. I had hoped that the electronic version would make that easier by offering a "print page" option, but it does not. I understand the limitations of copyright but saving copies for personal use as I had was not a violation. To save trees will probably renew, but am still searching for a way to archive what I need.
