Assurion was extremely difficult to deal with. Although they claim easy resolution for insured products, the process is anything but. Ultimately I spent over 8 hours on the phone and several hours more on the computer dealing with Assurion.
I would send them the documents they requested only to be told they were inadequate and I needed to send other documents to verify my purchase and ownership. They would evaluate the docs, accept them, then send another email rejecting them and asking for even more documentation. After I sent in the documents and they finally accepted those, they then told me I needed to send photographs of the product (3 angles, the serial number plate and unbelievably - a photo showing what didn't work). What kind of a picture would that be when a vacuum cleaner will no longer turn on and stops sucking?! One person at Assurion told me I would be required to send the product to their headquarters in Nashville, TN.
All of this seems like INTENTIONAL delay designed to frustrate the customer and cause them to give up the pursuit of the claim. Why would Assurion do that? They get to keep more of the money customers paid them. If Amazon won't back their electronic products and prefers to offer inexpensive insurance for purchase instead, they need to make sure the insurance company has integrity, is supportive, and easy to work with. Assurion was constantly moving the goal posts to discourage me from obtaining a refund.
I finally got my purchase refunded but what a hassle and over 10 hours invested between Assurion & Amazon.
