Clean, compact and compelling, Singapore seamlessly combines the best of Asia. Different cultures and cuisines live side by side, while maintaining their own identity.
Behind the bright lights of Chinatown is cheap and delicious dim sum, while Little India is a sensation for the senses. Wander past the pastel-painted facades of Malay-dominated Geylang Seari for a taste of days gone by, then stop off at the Colonial-style Raffles Hotel, birthplace of the Singapore Sling cocktail.
For a retreat from the hustle and bustle, take the cable car to the sandy beaches of Sentosa, an island just south of the city center. Also here is Universal Studios Singapore, a theme park brimming with the magic of the movies.
As you’d expect from the host of the world’s only Formula 1 night race, once night falls, Singapore is still very much alive. Its Night Safari is a zoo providing the rare chance to see nocturnal animals going about their business.
Although small enough to see on foot, Singapore has an efficient public transport system which extends as far as Singapore Changi Airport. With a choice of Singapore accommodations ranging from budget hostels to luxury hotels, Booking.com is bound to have the right choice for your holiday.

Singapore is an amazing melting pot of western and eastern, old and new, hi tech and traditional. From the Arabic quarter to the Indian quarter, from raffles to little china town, there's a bit of everything here for just about everyone.
And O.M.G. the food, there is so much good food in Singapore, you'd just about swear eating is the national pastime, and to some extent it is.
Good food is everywhere in the city and out in the suburbs, my partner and I even found an amazing restaurant "Jerry's BBQ" that does insanely hot, but really flavourful and well made buffalo style wings.
There's everything from shops selling traditional chinese medicine, amazing silks and other fabrics, gemstones and hand-crafted perfumes, right through to high retailers from the likes of Louis Vuitton, Tiffany and many many others. Then there's places like Sim Lim Square which is an absolute heaven if you're a techie like me, and the internet speeds across the whole island are just *chef's kiss*.
If you're into the touristy things there's plenty of those as well, we went to river wonders and saw the Panda's and various other wildlife and had a lot of fun.
Transport around the island is easy with Singapore's amazingly well integrated public transport systems, there's also things like "GRAB" which is their local version of Uber and the rides on that are cheap, quick and fairly plentiful.
In short, it's great and we're definitely heading there again.

Singapore is a very clean city, but it's a bit like Dubai, unless you like shopping malls there's not a lot else to do. Sendosa island is great, the Singapore river is good, with some excellent restaurants alongside it. We were also lucky enough to see the rehearsals for National Day, including the fireworks which were spectacular. But that's about it, there is some wonderful modern architecture to view, the Public Transport is amazing. However Singapore is expensive, though the shopping is good. Overall I think that 5 days would have been enough.

Have stayed in Singapore on a number of occasions with the family when travelling New Zealand to Europe, there is so much to do for everyone, my children are 16 and 8, people are very friendly and if you are prepared to eat at the Hawker food courts then dining is very cheap. There are plenty of affordable Hotel options, having stayed in a few i would recommend Holiday Inn Express on Magazine Street, close to the river and withing walking distance to China Town. Sentosa Island is a must for the Kids.

Singapore was great, lots to see and do.
Singapore was great, lots to see and do. Marina bay gardens, Sentosa Island, China Town, Orchard Rd, Raffles, Marina Bay Sands all fantastic places to see. The MRT is very easy to use and a great price, always felt safe when using even later at night.
No windows. I booked it as I was travelling solo and the price of hotels in Singapore is ridiculous. I was prepared not to expect anything much from Hotel 81, just some dodgy stares from other occupants who seemed high on some substance. I was prepared to hear thumping noises from around but it was unexpectedly quiet, which was good. I know the neighbourhood well as I grew up around there, good for solo self reflecting walks at night.
Perfect location. Very close to Chinatown MRT and Clark Quay MRT stations. Walking distance to Chinatown. The hotel building connects with Chinatown Point and People's Park so you can walk under the roof to MRT stations. Which is great because it rains a lot in Singapore. Every floor provides a drinking water dispenser that you can use for free. The room size is large compared to other hotels in the same location.
Location is good. Cheap compare to other hotels in Singapore. They also let us leave our luggages even after checkout. They also replenish the coffee and towels everyday. If you are planning to use Grab/zig as mode of transportarion, this the best spot as it is at the center of the attractions. Water pressure is also good with hot/cold options. 7 11 everywhere too.
