John recovers after escaping from being shot after months in prison. Then he journeys home, and his family is overjoyed to find him alive and well. Then he joins a resistance group with his brother Fritz, and they go on missions to collect weapons, smuggle them to different places, hide Jews, and many more things. Just when things are looking bad again, the American and Canadian allies defeat the Germans, and the war is over. John and his family all survived the terrible war to see the new day of freedom. This was a great book. My favorite part was when John met up with Fritz for the first time. This series was great, and it was so hard to put down! I highly recommend the Journey Through the Night series.
